If you ever were, or are, a Babybird fan...this *will not* dissapoint!!! Great stuff, I can't stop listening to it...plain and simple!!!

If you're familiar with Baby Bird / Babybird / Stephen Jones, then let me tell you that this album is at the mid-point between "Almost Cured of Sadness" and "Between My Ears There's Nothing But Music". It's slick pop, and it (happily) sounds like a cohesive work, rather than the early Babybird band albums which sounded like everyone was pulling in a different direction.
But the focus here is ballads and mellow reflection, rather than the anger and rock of "Between My Ears...". Fortunately it doesn't go as far into twee falsetto as "Almost Cured..."; it hits that sweet spot between introspection and rock. |
