Ex-Sensitive, the new album from singer-songwriter Ben Jelen, is all about love. But listeners familiar with Jelen's debut LP (Give It All Away)--a lush and romantic tribute to a girl named Isabel-- may be surprised to learn that the object of Jelen’s affection in Ex-Sensitive isn't a girl at all. It's the Planet Earth and everyone on it.

Like most great love stories, Jelen's work on the album began with (meta)physical attraction--in this case a fascination with the physics of sound and its roots in good old-fashioned nature. Unraveling this mystery gradually laid waste to just about everything he thought he knew about himself and his music.

Jelen's drive to re-discover himself took him to India, the UK, and even the American South, where he holed up in the isolated home of Widespread Panic’s Dave Schools. He pulled his disappearing act--after months of touring--in hopes of catching up with all the changes in his life since his first album release. Months later, Jelen emerged with 30 songs that explored a central theme: the state of the world is in flux and every choice we make as individuals matters.

for showing me this artist on your program. I did not know who he was at all until I saw the video for "Wreckage" on VH1. It is a fabulous song with a powerful message, along the lines of U2's "One" or Phil Collins' "Another Day in Paradise." It prompted me to download both of his albums and everything on them is also wonderful, though "Wreckage" is hands down my favorite. Once again, thank you!

I was in love with Ben Jelen's first album, "Give It All Away," and i couldnt wait for there to be more. The first song i heard on "Ex-Sensitive" was "Pulse" and after that i HAD to get the album. I am so glad i did. Another great set of songs from a talented young artist. The passion can definitely be heard and its addicting. This CD has been in my CD player every day. Its one you cant get enough of.

Ben Jelen's sophomore release, "Ex-Sensitive" blows his debut album out of the water, and no one thought that would be possible! It is a great mix of tracks and will appeal to music fans of all genres and ages. Do not miss out on getting this cd, Ben is an amazing guy and an amazing talent!
