I have to say that these blew away my expectations. I have alternated two pairs of these for one year straight. I picked up a pair of these boxers originally for a summer spent working-on/driving boats in New Hampshire. To clean them I would shower in them and hang-dry (they would be completely dry within 4 hours, wearable within 2.5 hours). After one year, these boxers proved their weight in gold countless times (showering in the gym, and having a clean pair drying in your locker makes your trip to the gym easier). For traveling, the boxers are unmatched--with two pairs I never once had a problem with having a clean pair of boxers, and the ability to dry quickly in wet environments is a godsend. After one year, the boxers wore away at the same spot--the seam on the very bottom of the boxers. On both pairs the stitching frayed, but the fabric is completely fine (so yes after one year, they are still perfectly fine with very little sewing). I am amazed at how comfortable these boxers are, this fabric is stretchy but incredibly soft. Hands down these are the best boxers I have ever owned, and have recommended these to all my friends (when the subject comes up). I used these originally for their fast-drying and anti-microbial abilities, but the thing that convinced me to wear these long after necessity was their comfort. I will wear exofficio boxers for the rest of my life because they are far more comfortable than any cotton, nylon, or silk boxers I have ever worn. Recommended to the highest degree.

Simply put, I love these boxers. They feel nice and are very light. They dry quickly and are comfortable even when wet (relatively speaking). Two pairs of these and you can travel or backpack anywhere. I don't think I've taken mine off since I got them several years ago (okay, not literally) and they are still in great shape. Have had some very long days of flights and layovers and with a lesser pair of underwear I would have been a smelly mess- well, maybe I was but just couldn't tell, because they just feel so good. The boxer-briefs exofficio makes are excellent as well if pure boxers are too loose for you.

Here are some thoughts on fibers and fabrics from a guy who once never would have gone for anything but loose, 100%-cotton boxers. I've done a fair amount of traveling, hiking, and backpacking, so I wrote these out for a friend who was shopping around:

Cotton: Really comfortable when dry. Medium weight. Feels great against the skin, especially when loose. Breathes beautifully. Slight delay before it starts to stink. Not really the best to re-wear once perspired-in. Launders well BUT takes forever to dry. Gets damp easily, especially from humidity/perspiration and remains wet next to skin, going possibly from slight chafe to extreme irritation -- plus drags heat out of skin in cool weather leading to significant hypothermia risk. ("Cotton kills in cold", as we say in outdoor pursuits.) Tends to cling, ride up, bind, so you want them loose; never tight. Besides, 100% cotton doesn't stretch. Durable, even able to take chlorine bleach.

Cotton Flannel: Normally associated with winter but I found out a long time ago that I prefer cotton flannel boxers in humid weather because the nap of the fabric eliminates the tendency to cling/bunch/ride up. Less durable, though, than standard woven cotton shorts and takes even longer to dry.

Merino Wool: Expensive (probably the most-so) but has all the advantages of cotton with none of the drawbacks. Absurdly soft and comfy, though can still ride up, cling, or bind in the crotch, I suppose. (I'm guessing, as I've never had merino wool in shorts, just in other items.) Dries FAST. Impressive ability to wick water away from skin. (Conveys a massive drop in hypothermia risk in cold weather).

You can barely tell you have these on, very light material, stretches so you don't feel them pull when squatting for example.

My only complaint is occasionally they will grab an ass hair and not let go. I'm not a very hairy man but a few times a day a hair will get caught and you basically end up pulling the hair out. I guess I'll have baby smooth bottom in a few months.

I was stuck in Japan during the earthquake for 4 days without a change of clothes and wore these the whole time. They did not stink and were quite comfortable. I highly recommend this underwear. Quite comfortable.....and boy did I sweat for those few days!

You may have a collection of underwear in your drawer, but with a pair of these, you'll open it, and these will be your number ONE choice. You'll be searching for these every time. Once you wear a pair, there's nothing that will take care of your "region" like these. Barely any sweat down there even on the hottest days, and this is coming from a man who works outside, and has for 16 years, 42 weeks a year, in the sun and heat, next to a 165 degree piece of metal. I have experienced chafe, many times BAD- this made me go out and search for the right pair of boxers. I don't enjoy briefs, nor boxer briefs, I like to hang LOOSE. I do own several pair of UA boxers, then I found by default in a retail store, exofficio boxers, they DOG UA's boxers. Softer, better "cut", slightly shorter, must say here for my waist size 33 I wear a MED, not a large like UA's. Make sure you get the right size (see the sizing charts). Fresh out of the package instantly wearable, you'll be blown away at how they feel in your hands when you squeeze them... the softest thing I have just about very felt. I'm a BIG fan for life, don't know if there'll ever be something superior to these boxers, and don't know how they'd ever get a rating below five stars. Grab 'em you'll freakin LOVE them, and while you're at it, get your lady some give-n-go boy shorts, HOTNESS too (you better take care of her as well if you want peace on the home front)!
