I have three pairs of these now. Once you wear these it will be hard to go back to other boxer briefs - they are so comfortable! I am 6'3" / 200 lbs / 34-36" waist. The medium boxer briefs fit well.

I purchased a medium pair of these and liked them so much that I purchased a second pair a few months later. Both pair were medium in size, the only difference being the color, Charcoal vs Ocean. The original Charcoal pair I bought fit perfectly. and this new Ocean pair felt large so I decided to compare the two. When I lay the two on top of one another lining up one of the sides, the Ocean pair is a full 3/4 of an inch wider than the original Charcoal pair I bought. It would seem that either they shrink a bunch when washed a few times (I doubt this because the original pair has always fit about the same), or ExOfficio has some problems with the quality control at their factory. So I really can't say what size to buy because the two "mediums" were so different that it's hard to tell. These brief's cost way too much for their to be this lack of quality control.

If not for this issue I wouldn't hesitate to give this product 5 stars however, because of this issue I am struggling to give them 3 stars. Hopefully someone from the company can address this problem but I have a feeling that this issue will get lost in the 800+ other reviews on Amazon.com.

Pros: Comfortable, wick moisture well, well-made, durable, quick-drying, anti-microbial

Cons: expensive, tend to run larger than sizing chart

Bottom Line: These underwear are my new favorite's! I travel a lot and these shorts are the travelers friend. They're light, stylish, comfortable (even in heat and humidity) and can (in a pinch) be washed in the sink in a hotel room. They feel more like some kind of high-tech silk than anything else. If NASA designed underwear, they'd come up with something like this.

Since they do seem to run a little large, my only caveat is this-

ONLY BUY ONE PAIR UNTIL YOU KNOW WHAT SIZE FITS YOU BEST.

I'm a 32 waist and can wear either the S or M. The S fits like the picture, the M is a little baggy. I prefer the S but had to buy an M to figure that out...

Regardless, this is simply a terrific product. I've got 4 pair now. Cost doesn't even really bug me. Mostly since they're so rugged they'll easily last 4 or 5 times longer than any other boxers I've bought.

I ordered the medium and I am a full 36" waist. Very comfortable. They stay dry. The waist band is comfortable and sturdy. With some other underwear my waist band will roll over, but not with this one. They are snug fitting which is what I like. They could be little longer in the leg length, but acceptable. I will be purchasing more of them. I have tried many different branks. UnderArmour works well also, but they tend to get hot and sweaty. This one fits similarly, but is cool and comfortable.
Update Feb 2013. I wear these much less due to the short leg length. My new favorites are Target brand C9 by Champion. They are a little longer in the leg, don't ride up and breathe well. On sale for a 2pk around $12

I was hesitant to purchase these because of the price until I saw all of the reviews. What made me look for these in the first place was when I noticed my husband's underwear had several holes and when I asked why he wasn't throwing them out he said he liked to wear them while working on the yard b/c he sweats so much and it helps to have the ventilation! So I found these and decided to give them a try. He loves them, and asked for more. He sweats a lot and they keep him from getting chafed and chapped. They wash well and are dry in just a few minutes so I don't have to put the in the dryer. Great product!

My wife and I visited Rome, Paris, and London within a two week period. This was my second trip to Europe and during my first trip I packed a lot of cotton clothes and learned a hard lesson when I tried to do laundry myself. In case you don't know, that hard lesson was that none of my cotton clothes dried completely over night. Some smaller people don't have issues drying their cotton clothes over night, but the larger your clothes are the more time it takes to dry.

So, this trip I decided once again that I would do my own laundry to save on laundry costs while travelling. I bought 3 pair of this underwear and I have to say that even though it was expensive, it was one of the best purchases I made for the trip. I read reviews of people only needing 1 to 2 pair (wear one, wash one each day) but I took a more conservative approach and packed 3 pair of these as well as 3 pair of cotton. However the only underwear I used the WHOLE TRIP were just 2 pair of these and just did a washing every night. Truthfully, you could get away with owning 1 pair and just washing it every night. I found that that they dried within about 3-4 hours of me hanging them up.

As far as comfort goes, at first I didn't like how they hugged me kind of tight because I am used to boxer briefs. But after I broke them in so to speak I loved it. In fact it was hard for me go back to cotton after this. Regardless, they are comfortable and will also protect you from chaffing if you will be doing a lot of walking.

Some reviewers of the underwear have said that the quality of this underwear has gone down. Seeing as how I have never owned a pair previous to this, I dont know what they are talking about. They may be legit, but in my experience these were very good quality and I can see them lasting a long time. The fact that they never stretched out, dried quickly, and never retained that 'I just washed my clothes on my own' smell despite them going through about 8 days of washing (16 days on 2 pair), being wrung out and twisted each night, and then air dried proves to me that they are very good quality.

These bunch of and are very uncomfortable. i think its because i hike and cycle a lot and have larger thighs then most people so the tight part of the brief slides up. Still the material lives up to its claims so i ordered the boxer version of these and I've been wearing them comfortably since. if you think you might be built like me then just get the boxer version. I'd give those five stars.

I tend to be picky when it comes to merchandise bought with my hard earned money. A product that performs as expected gets four stars from me. It is only when the product exceeds my expectations will I give a five star rating. That said, these briefs work as advertised. They help keep you cool and dry during warm weather and helps avoid the dampness around your private parts. This is imperative if you are an active person as the sweat that is wicked away helps prevent jock-itch and/or rashes. I have tested these briefs on 10k runs and they also work to prevent chafing around the thigh areas as the material helps wick away the sweat.

As far as sizing is concerned if you are a waist size 33 to 35 I would probably go with the medium size if you like to have more support. If you are a true size 36 and prefer a roomier fit then go with the large. In my experience these briefs run true to size and are roomy.

There are only two problems with these briefs. First, I have noticed that on two pairs of my briefs a thread from the stitching was beginning to unravel. This should not happen with briefs that are supposedly made for travel use and require repeated hand-washing and wringing while on a trip. Thus, I question the durability of the briefs. Second, the gray and blue briefs that I own have pilling issues, especially on the top rear of the briefs. This is a cause of concern as the material may thin over time. The pilling occurs whether I hand wash the garment or machine wash it in cold water. This is something to be aware of and in my opinion should not happen on briefs at this price point.

Expected these to be more like traditional Under Armour...pleasantly surprised, same benefits, more room, not as tight yet not loose like traditional boxers.

Coming from Banana Republic boxers, this is like being in heaven. Gone are the days of bad support. Gone are the days of feeling like I'm wearing a parachute under my slacks!

These fit great. They have a bit of elasticity, so they expand where you need them, but also contract and hug your thighs as well. The material is light, soft and breathable. But it does feel more synthetic than the softest cotton.

I did an experiment and only took 3 pairs on a recent trip of X'mas (they recommended two, but I figured I'd bring an extra, "just in case"). Anyway, it's all true that I could wash the pair at night and roll it up in a towel and stomp on it before hanging to dry, and it would be ready for the next day. There was a late night, and even with only 6 hours to dry, the ExOfficio didn't disappoint.

Buy one to try (like me). And you'll want more (like me -- I have all the colors now).
