First Age Fantastic!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Exalted Dreams of the First Age (Hardcover)
Exalted is my favorite setting from White Wolf, and after years of waiting and wondering what the First Age truly had to offer its inhabitants, now we get a glimpse of the grandeur and power that existed before the Usurpation. The ideas this accessory spawned for my own games as innumerable and I can't wait to put some of these ideas in motion for my players! I highly recommend this boxed set to Exalted fans everywhere, it's got just what you've been looking for!

A reprint is on its way,
This review is from: Exalted Dreams of the First Age (Hardcover)
This book has been out of print for a long time, and was made in very limited numbers. Also, the binding was notoriously bad, so many copies have fallen apart. Additionally, no official PDF of the product was ever released. Getting your hands on a copy is exasperating to say the least.
Wonderfully, that is all going to change. The book is scheduled for a reprinting sometime in the coming months (though without a known deadline, it may be up to a year or longer before it hits shelves). It will be accompanied with a full PDF. Both the book and the PDF will be fully errata'd versions of the original box set. The original box set was mostly fantastic, though it suffered from the above and also from the charm set. While Dragon Blooded charms were fantastic, and most Lunar charms were as well, the Solar charms were horrendously bad. They were thematically boring, mechanically incompetent, and, in the case of Zeal (a charm whose name has become a buzzword for awful charm design), setting breaking. This will all be changed in the upcoming reprint (thanks to the errata), so rather than spending your money on this heavily inflated artifact of a source book, just give it a little time. You will be rewarded with a book that will be everything this was meant to be.

Good, But has some problems,

This review is from: Exalted Dreams of the First Age (Hardcover)
In general I enjoyed this product very much and anybody who is into Exalted would also enjoy it. I'm dinging it a bit in it's score because of problems with the editing. I've noticed a number of places where it actively contradicts some other exalted books. Also while it set up some interesting setting info it's an era of peace so you are going to have to work to create some drama and adventure, this product doesn't give much guidance in that regard.

Amazing Stuff,

This is a HUGE installment for the Exalted RPG.
Exalted is a game published by White Wolf Game Studio and is placed in a mythic Second Age of Man where magic, technology and fantasy are the rule of the game. And in this Box there is more than enough stuff to live in the First Age of Creation where wonders are the norm and miracles just take a little longer. Heroes battle enemies and save thousands. Magic is world-wide and its effects rival those of the Incarnae themselves. This is MUST for all Exalted fans!

This is a great product. It does have some flawed charms that should never have been printed, but most of the charms are useful expansions to the trees in the base books. It also gives the reader perpective on how 1st age exalts viewed life and their place in the world.
