I bought this book to help me test myself on the theory of doing hair. I also bought Milady's Standard Cosmetology 2008: Theory Workbook (Paperback) in conjunction with the exam book.
I have been been going over these exercises while studying people and their hair at my sisters salon. This exam review came heavily recommended through much research. I find the exam book to be quite useful in reviewing my knowledge from the other milady texts. Make note though, this does not do much good UNLESS you have the other Milady texts to read and study from!

I read & I did practice all the times this books plus online of Milady website. I always pass when I give on line practice test. But when I go for state board exam there is totally different questions.

Auther should know that, in state board exam all questions are tricky, not that simple as published in Milady's book/ website.

Need to improve question with reference to more realistic question which are being asked in state board exam, instead of converting simple sentences into questions and just putting in book /online.

Our entire batch / school has this complaints.

If some one is not from scince back ground, this book does not help to pass state cosmetolgy exam.

I ordered the Milady Standard Cosmetology exam review book (2008 edition) to have a study aid for the state board exam this coming spring. It's different than I expected- it's more like the workbook where you have to use your book to answer the questions in it. Nonetheless I love it! I bought it used for $13.95 plus shipping and it's in great shape, with only a stamp on the inside from the Cosmetology school that had previously owned it. Otherwise it's brand new, no tears in the pages, no writing- excellent! I love it and will definetly put it to use before my exam.

just help you like answer 50-60% questions on your cosmetology exam board !!!!

if youre a cosmetology student you should pick this up. even if you aren't it might help your language in the field. i went to a hair show this past weekend and boy do some of the old timers in this field sound stupid when they can't seem to use proper lingo about the body parts and hair styles/types.
