3.0 out of 5 stars Review of Milady's Standard Esthetics Textbook
An all-inclusive book for the student who wants to know all! Chapter on Anatomy is so detailed it ranks with a standard med school course in anatomy. Be prepared to do some heavy memorization. Easily understandable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good study guide, November 23, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I can credit this workbook with helping me pass my exams! I found it very helpful to test myself when studying, and with this book, I knew I wasn't missing anything. The only critisism I could make about this book would be that if you're filling in the answers with an open book, there are times with everything is on order and it's too simple (you are not forced to research the answers). Other than that, I can say I am completely satisfied with this book, and would recommend it to students in esthetics.

3.0 out of 5 stars Eh!, November 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The 'review' of the chapters is pretty lame and nothing more than sentences with a few words missing. Better off creating your own with another student to do some critical thinking.

3.0 out of 5 stars good but too much politically correct, September 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a good book but the attempt to be politically correct ( something very common nowadays ) backfires a little. It was to be expected that when the authors selected models for the photos showing

facial procedures that they selected people with lighter skin so that readers could easily see the differences between the stages of the procedures. As it is, they selected models with dark skin, so one picture is just like all the others. The basic step-by-step facial in chapter 14 illustrates this clearly. They might as well have taken just one photo and repeated it throughout the procedure; the result would have been the same.

Got this for my daughter to study for her esthetician boards...it was the only one recommended. She is doing a little every day. Her boards are in Dec, so we will see how good it is!

4.0 out of 5 stars Happy with this purchase, November 23, 2010

I found this book to be very well written and easy to understand. It was thorough without getting carried away with details. It was a great study guide when paired with the workbook especially for anatomy and physiology.

1.0 out of 5 stars this book SUCKS!!!!, March 7, 2011
This review is from: Exam Review for Milady's Standard Esthetics: Fundamentals (Paperback)
I studied this book front and back for three months and failed my Esthetician written exam. Seriously, I thought Milady's was supposed to be the best. But apparently that's just for sales.

Lucky enough I found a study guide that ACTUALLY had the questions and answers to to Esthetician exam. I studied this book for TWO DAYS and guess what?? I received a 90 on my written exam. If you want a book that actually is going to have up to date material go to lulu.com and search Wendelyn Muckerheide. Thats the author and the only way it will come up. The book is called "State Board Exam Review for the Esthetician Student". Trust me if you study this book you will PASS like I did!!! :)
