I am still using the book therefore this review will be on what I have observed thus far. The study guide is easy to use and my only problem is that some of the questions are in the wrong section. For instance, at the end of each section there is a series of questions which is suppose to be for the material that was just covered. I noticed that there were questions that were not covered in the previous material but are covered in the next section.

Corp Planning Person,
This review is from: EA Exam Review Part 1: Individuals IRS Enrolled Agent Exam Study Guide 2009-2010 Edition (Perfect Paperback)
This is far and away the best EA book out there, in my opinion, and I've seen a few. The info is precise. It is well written but more important than that is the way the material is presented. You have the "meat" of the material presented in the chapter. Then you have a series of questions. But it's not just a question and answer. The book does give you the answer to the multiple choice question but it also briefly discusses the salient IRS rules relating to the question. So the Q & A section is about the same size as the "meat" section. The discussion of the question reinforces my understanding of the IRS rule. I also note the questions that I initially got wrong, and will go back over just those questions before the EA test. This book gives me confidence that I'll do Ok on the EA Exam.

Good format, but full of typos and other more serious errors,

Almost every page has some kind of error. A form number changes mid paragraph, the spelling of a person's name changes within the example. It's as if no one bothered to proofread the book - it wouldn't even take someone with a tax background. I'm going to shop around for an alternative for parts 2 and 3...

The format of the book is good and helped me prepare for the exam. Unfortunately, there are multiple errors in the book, so don't take all the answers for granted. I have passed all three exams now and used all three books. There are helpful, but if your tax knowledge is limited, you might need to find another source.

Although the book is well written, I'm slightly disappointed with the many errors that I've found in the book. Some are understandably typographical, but many are major errors in the question & answer portion. I've found Form numbers given to be incorrect. I've found some answers that don't agree with the questions. Due to the importance of the exam that I'm preparing for, I would've expected much more quality control or proofreading before publishing.
