Wiley CPA Examination Review Practice Software 13.0, Complete Set

The Good: The most useful feature of this software is that you get instant feedback when you answer a question. If you get it wrong, they tell you so, and, in some cases why. You can then keep trying till you get the right answer, then they give pretty detailed explanations as to why that answer is right. Of course, you can do the same thing on your own with the Wiley books if you don't mind flipping back and forth to the answer pages.

The Bad: Aside from that, the software has no real benefit over the questions in the books. It seems pretty clumsily designed - like somebody just took a database of questions and added a GUI. I don't think it's too much to ask that they add a feature that will allow you to randomize questions from different sections without being in "Exam Mode" (exam mode doesn't give you don't get the helpful little popups I mentioned above). Also, the exam "feedback" is less than helpful; it just lists the questions numbers you got wrong and what your wrong answers were. Great. Now how about giving me a useful little link to the correct answer so I can quickly review, and don't have to go clicking through 40 menus to find the questions I need.

Overall: Probably not worth the money if you have the books. The idea is good, but they need to make it more than just a pretty database.

The only redeeming features of this software are the instant feedback and links to the text . . . which any other software package will have. Wiley doesn't give you much in the way of cumulative feedback besides a raw score by module. There are tons of typos and many questions seem to have words that have been transposed or don't make any sense.

This software has been somewhat helpful, but definitely not worth the money I paid for it.

A great set of practice questions that's comprehensive and complements the Wiley CPA review books. You have to ignore the occasional editing error, but the material is by-and-large solid and it's a great help to have the extra practice. I would use it again (though I passed BEC 1st try, so shouldn't need to).

While this software has lots of questions, most are reproductions from the text. It was nice to have exposure to the computerized exam format, but the biggest issue for me was using the stupid calculator on the computer screen during the exam. Given its cost, buy it used at a discount or even better you can get access to extra questions for free at [...] - I passed, but attribute that to lots of study time, not use of the software.

This is decent product, and is good for preparing you for the computer based exam interface. The only thing to be improved would be to allow randomization of questions picked instead of having to pick the questions randomly yourself. I have the Wiley Exam review 2008/2009 outline and question books and there are also a lot of questions in those. but this software allows me to do some quick tests during breaks at work which was helpful in assessing if I really understood a topic and could move on to the next topic and not waist time studying what I knew.

I really liked this product and have passed BEC and AUD so far. I'm thinking of getting the 14.0 for FAR and REG if it exists. It's always better to get the most up to date version.

For the cost of the product, I was thinking that the study mode will allow me to read information that is included in the text outline. What it does is present questions and it provides short blurbs via answers to questions completed or requesting a hint. The product is decent. It does contain loads of practice questions. I just felt let down by the fact that I have to do my reading through the text outline or sign up for the on-line class.

I needed this product for furthering my studies for CPA licensure and it arrived a day ahead of when I expected it...which I was thankful for because I wanted it ASAP :-). It was also in perfect condition!
