Criticisms of the fourth edition apply here too.,

I had high hopes that the fifth edition would not have the problems described in the reviews of the fourth edition. Alas.
The other E&E books I have read have been helpful, informative, and entertaining, but this one is confusing, massively boring, and leaves more questions than it answers. The critical reviews of the fourth edition do a good job of explaining what is unfortunately wrong with this book. Read them and proceed with caution.

I value the E&E series, but this one was very inconsistent. Some parts were well written and other parts had glaring errors. I even emailed the authors tho let them know their mistakes. It is a shame to use this book as a 1L, but if you are taking Crim as a 2L you might better experienced to see the pitfalls. The E&E books on Torts, Civ Pro and Evidence are FAR better.

This book is a great resource. I am a first year law student and have had professors confirm that E&E is the way to go. Prompt shipping - good experience with seller

The E&Es are the ONLY supplement I get.
When I need to double-check that my understanding of the law is on point with other lawyers, I can just read through each topic in the chapters. When I need examples before the final exam, I can just go through the examples. Oh, but when I need to make sure than my answers are actually correct . . . I can f***ing go to the explanations! That's so much better than old final exams online, or the professor telling you "what do you think the answer is?"

Not bad, but not the best out there,

This book is decent, and does a fairly good job distinguishing between MPC and common law. Problem is that it only covers a small range of topics - did not include criminal assault, battery, arson, burglary and a lot of other things I needed to know for class. The examples definitely help, but I would recommend the Glannons over this book.

How I learned Crim. Law,

I pretty much attribute this book to my success in Crim. Law. You can pretty much just use this book to build an outline around. The whole series, but this one is especially clear and helpful. I used it for the last couple weeks before my exam to help study, but I am sure that it is equally beneficial as a resource over the course of the class.
