5.0 out of 5 stars Electronic Backgammon, A+
Not only was the Einstein Touch Backgammon a great value, but it was worth every penny! It's very durable; yes Ive already dropped it, but theres not even a scratch. I love playing it, it keeps me busy, and it keeps my mind active. A+!

1.0 out of 5 stars Problems with Einstein Touch Backgammon, August 2, 2009

As noted by other reviewers, there are some definite problems with this product that need to be addressed in subsequent models. First, it needs a backlight or some way to illuminate the game. I have a brand new game with top of the line new lithium batteries and still could not see the board well enough to make any moves. In addition, when I turned on the game, the icons appeared to be burned into the screen, and, consequently, I could not figure out when I made a move or the computer opponent made a move. These are serious technical problems that prevent anyone from playing the game at all.

Incidentally, I do have other games from Excalibur, which do not share these problems. I think this particular model of backgammon needs to be removed from circulation and replaced with a product that has been field tested with a broad base of consumers with differing levels of skill and experience, both with backgammon and with electronic games.

This game is virtually unplayable without a backlight. If you can't see the board, you can't play the game.

1.0 out of 5 stars A big disapointment, July 30, 2009

I wanted a backgammon game I could take with me when I travel. Not much fun when you can never win. Game does some strange stuff. Several of my men (which are always white) could not be seen and sometimes I couldn't make the moves I wanted. Computer always gets the good rolls. It sometimes makes moves I didn't want to make. What a rip off.

Received as gift. Screen too dull to see and play. Company phone always busy and never responded to repeated emails. If I could give less than one star, I would. Amazon should drop all products from this company.

2.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre Backgammon, February 19, 2009

This is very limited backgammon. There is no doubling cube, the computer always goes first (no first roll). There is no way to adjust the contrast. It's also very easy to make a move you did not intend - and it doesn't allow you to back up. This company's non-touch screen version, which is bigger, but controlled by buttons - was much better.

I purchased this as a gift for my husband and had to return. The display is so dark you can hardly see the game. The picture shows a white background, but it is really grey. If you had a Nintendo DS, look into Clubhouse Games as backgammon is on it and it is easy to see and pay.

Having played backgammon for over 10 years, I was very disappointed with this purchase. The controls are not user friendly and the screen should be larger. I guess that I have to go and buy a magnifying glass in order to use this "toy".
Sorry, this has not been one of my better purchases.
Actually, It has been one of my worse ones - collecting dust in my basement.

Please see my review of the "Executive Touch Backgammon" because this, the Einstein Touch, and the Executive Touch are exactly the same game; it is only the outer plastics that is different.

I hadn't played backgammon for years and I thought this would be a piece of cake to play. The game did all the playing. I figured that I completely forgot how to play--too bad! There were NO instructions included. I finally found some online for the Einstein game. Too bad! The game still did all the playing. A total loss! Bummer!
