I would like to recomend this small yet simple book. it has a list of 100 very simple instructions that can get you out of the most common messes one gets one into.
A friend of mine needed some "professional" help in dealing with an Excel workbook she was working for at work. I had to help her and I purchased this book. Believe it or not, this book had the answers to the things she was looking for. She came up to me and thanked me from the bottom of her heart and told me, "How da heck did you learn all this", hahaha, my secret? a few hours spent reading this book. Hey, I have purchased now numerous books from these guys after I found out how easy it was to learn from these didactic books. Sure, I give them my stars!....I dont know who they are but I have this way of thinking....if someone work hard in puting together a book that helps me, he deserves my stars!

Good book for curious beginners,

I think these are useful books for beginners. Many (but not all) of the "Teach Yourself Visually" series books are good -- check reviews first on the one you are considering. This one is not exactly a "TYV" book - it's a variant (100 tips for Excel 2003 Simplified) is a pretty good one.

Excel Simplified,

I got this book on recommendation from a teacher of an Excel class I was taking at the time. It is very detailed and user friendly and answers most all questions anyone could have about Excel 2003. Unfortunately, I have the 2007 version and some of the items are positioned differently but the general information in the book is still very helpful. Tips and pictures on every page make it impossible not to "get it".

This is an excellent reference book. There are a lot of Microsoft tips and tricks books out there, but this one is a very simplified one. By simplified I mean it's not complex. It is easy to find the information and the information is explained very well. I have used several of the tips to expedite my work, and I was considered well above average for this software application before purchasing this book. I highly recommend it for those looking for useful tips and tricks for this application.
