Create killer formulas—Mr. Spreadsheet shows you how

Excel master John Walkenbach has shared his expertise in two previous editions of this bestseller. Now he shows you how to create financial formulas, release the power of array formulas, develop custom worksheet functions with VBA, debug formulas, and more with Excel 2007. If you already know your way around the newest Excel and want to concentrate on using formulas to extend its capabilities even further, you've come to the right place.

It's estimated that only about ten percent of Excel users really understand how to get the most out of worksheet formulas. If you're ready to join that elite group, here's your membership kit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get this book, even if you use OpenOffice Calc!, March 22, 2007
By Zaine Ridling (Missouri, US) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
John Walkenbach is well established as a great spreadsheet mind and is not afraid to share the shortcomings of any software, including Excel 2007. Excel 2007 Formulas continues the tradition of providing, explaining, and demonstrating how formulas work and how you don't have to be intimidated by them. Everything is covered, and I mean everything. And just a note: even if you use StarOffice/OpenOffice Calc, buy this book since almost all the formulas listed transfer seamlessly into the Open Source spreadsheet, too -- a great value, indeed!

4.0 out of 5 stars A great reference book, October 3, 2007
By Renan Picado (San Jose, Costa Rica) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
With the recent changes on Excel 2007, in which there were several cosmetic and functional changes, this book is a good option for reference. The author is a real master, no doubt about it, on the CD provided you will see some examples that you would never expected to get out of excel. The only real complaint is in regards to the screen captures on the book, some of them are so POOR quality on resolution that you can hardly see it.
However, I would recommend you this book for those interested on developing sound data analysis skills in the application.

5.0 out of 5 stars When Your Good,....Your Good!, May 13, 2007
The Author really knows his stuff!!!
Again an accurate, concise, extensive reference tool for the beginner as well as the advanced user. This is my fourth excel book by Mr. Walkenbach and they are all of equal caliber. They all contain general background information as well as information dealing with other programming areas of excel (so that even if you only purchase a book like the VBA programming guide, you will still learn about macro programming and other general excel functions). Like all his books, this one gives the user a complete library of useful and professional approaches towards working with and solving excel problems. Good Job Mr Walkenbach!
