More About the Author

Greg Harvey has authored tons of computer books, the most recent being Excel Timesaving Techniques For Dummies and Roxio Easy Media Creator For Dummies, and the most popular being Excel 2003 For Dummies and Excel 2003 All-In-One Desk Reference For Dummies. He started out training business users on how to use IBM personal computers and their attendant computer software in the rough and tumble days of DOS, WordStar, and Lotus 1-2-3 in the mid-80s of the last century. After working for a number of independent training firms, he went on to teach semester-long courses in spreadsheet and database management software at Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
His love of teaching has translated into an equal love of writing. For Dummies books are, of course, his all-time favorites to write because they enable him to write to his favorite audience, the beginner. They also enable him to use humor (a key element to success in the training room) and, most delightful of all, to express an opinion or two about the subject matter at hand.
Greg received his doctorate degree in Humanities in Philosophy and Religion with a concentration in Asian Studies and Comparative Religion last May. Everyone is glad that Greg was finally able to get out of school before he retired.

3.0 out of 5 stars For the Pro's September 4, 2013
By wd6aaw
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This was written in a form that someone who used programs like excell may have understood. For me, who just bought excel, it was either to simple or way above my head. Not for beginners.

Picked this up for my staff and they love it. It gets passed around regularly. I only wish that I had picked it up earlier.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dummy buys EXCEL 2013 for Dummies. December 25, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I recently got a new job that uses spread sheets for everything. I thought I would brush up on EXCEL so I bought this. Silly me, thinking that 2013 meant the latest copywrite date and not the 2013 version, so it was not helpful to me. At work, we are still using EXCEL 2007 and will probably never change to 2013 since they will have to buy 1 million licenses to switch. So if you have EXCEL 2013, then the "For Dummies" format will probably help you. P.S. - since I waited too long to return it, I put it on Ebay and still couldn't get rid of it.

This book is written for someone that already knows excel. Adding words to fullfill the ten word requirement. One & two.
