5.0 out of 5 stars Great addition to any Office Library
This book is a useful tool for any accountant who is new or very experienced with excel. The format is very straightforward and provides useful examples from organizing lists to more complex macros and scenarios. Most importantly it has chapter about using excel and quickbooks, making this book a great addition to any office library.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's OK but falls short of the title
I bought the book to give me some ideas on developing short lessons for accounting students in the use of Excel. I am an excel expert but wanted to develop better exercises and tutorials for my accounting majors in my courses. I found that the book contains examples that you could typically get from many introductory or advanced Excel courses - but gives limited insight...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Resource for Bookkeepers, Accountants, or others using Excel & QuickBooks too!, February 6, 2008
This review is from: Excel for Accountants: Tips, Tricks & Techniques (Paperback)
This book is a great resource to have in your 'library'. It is easy to use and find the information you need. I think the fact that it includes a chapter on QuickBooks and Excel is particularly helpful and useful!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Resource, May 30, 2007
This review is from: Excel for Accountants: Tips, Tricks & Techniques (Paperback)
This book is so filled with shortcuts, tips, and clearly written
explanations that I keep it right next to my keyboard. This is a
great resource for accountants, or for anyone who uses Excel for
financial calculations and reports.

I bought the book to give me some ideas on developing short lessons for accounting students in the use of Excel. I am an excel expert but wanted to develop better exercises and tutorials for my accounting majors in my courses. I found that the book contains examples that you could typically get from many introductory or advanced Excel courses - but gives limited insight and examples into using Excel for accountants or accounting students for that matter. Also, the book needs more practice examples. In either case, I have the book on my book shelf, but will probably never use it, especially for my present project.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good book on Excel for Accountants, February 1, 2010

This review is from: Excel for Accountants: Tips, Tricks & Techniques (Paperback)
I am an accountant, and i think the book explains well the most essential tools of Excel. I would like though to read more on simple VBA exercises like creating a simple customized data entry form. I think this would have added value to the book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth the price of admission, October 13, 2008
This review is from: Excel for Accountants: Tips, Tricks & Techniques (Paperback)
Not sure there's a lot in this volume that you couldn't get from a general course in Excel, but the application to accounting and financial practice is well-drawn.

1.0 out of 5 stars Excel for Accountants NOT!, February 19, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Excel for Accountants: Tips, Tricks & Techniques (Paperback)
The author of this book is not an accountant, has no idea what an accountant might use Excel for and, frankly, should consider renaming this book. I am an accountant, I use Excel every day and in my opinion this author needs to do an accountant's job before he holds himself out to be the expert in a field in which he has obviously no experience.
