Book Description

April 2, 2007
It's time to build a passionate, engaged workforce so you can attract, optimize and retain the top talent you need to meet and exceed your company's goals. Most companies are faced with overwhelming pressure to produce more, better, faster, and cheaper in order to compete in a highly competitive global marketplace. The solution is for leaders to establish a culture where there is a passionate commitment to excellence characterized by high productivity, full engagement and inspired leadership. Excellence at Work provides a practical roadmap for leaders at every level in an organization to build a committed, inspired workforce that is focused on success. This book presents six simple, yet powerful principles for creating a robust work environment in which employees communicate impeccably, proactively solve problems, execute on priorities, bring out the best in each other, reignite their passion and have fun. The principles that author Sandy Asch teaches are the "glue" that makes human resources, training initiatives and business processes "stick" and produce lasting results. Asch offers a comprehensive guide to the foundation of organizational excellence, with case study examples, tools and strategies for operationalizing the six principles in your workplace. They not only will make a difference in your work life, but in your personal life, too.

These concepts will help us to achieve three critical choice factors: to become known as an employer of choice; to earn the reputation as the vendor of choice; and to become the investment of choice.

Integrating the Excellence principles into our day-to-day operations has helped us become recognized as one of San Diego's top employers.

Excellence at Work is a joy to read. It shows, clearly and succinctly, how to engage, inspire and retain employees who have a passion for excellence, thereby assuring your company's success in today's global marketplace. If you're serious about creating a culture of outstanding performance in your organization, buy it, read it and implement it! You won't go wrong if you do.

Editorial Reviews

Review

One of the primary benefits of the book, Excellence at Work, is how it teaches readers to integrate the Excellence principles in their organization. As Asch writes, students of the Excellence program realize that "no matter how valuable their individual use of the principles is, in order for the program to have lasting effect, they need a way to achieve sustainable organizational change. Excellence at Work is the answer to their requests." -- Workspan Magazine, May 2007

Employers are looking for a new approach to reach their business goals. The ability to attract, optimize, and retain top talent is a vital component to achieving this objective. In her presentation at this year's WorldatWork annual conference, Sandy Asch, author of Excellence at Work--The Six Keys to Inspire Passion in the Workplace, addressed how employers can transform and reward employee performance and offered six things employers can do to become an employer of choice. -- Business and Legal Reports

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellence at Work is a practical step by step guide that any manager can use!, September 4, 2007
This review is from: Excellence at Work: The Six Keys to Inspire Passion in the Workplace (Perfect Paperback)
This is the first Leadership book that provides a practical step-by-step guide that managers can use for really making a difference in their organizations and work teams. As a Human Capital and Development Consultant I have used these skills in my training, coaching and strategic consultations with managers at all levels throughout a number of organizations - and have seen extraordinary results almost immediately! The South African analogies shared by the Author are also well received by my South African clients.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Outstanding book!, March 9, 2009
This review is from: Excellence at Work: The Six Keys to Inspire Passion in the Workplace (Perfect Paperback)
I can't adequately express how much I have enjoyed EXCELLENCE AT WORK. I've read many leadership and excellence books over
the years, and I can truly say that this is among the very best. I
believe I highlighted some key ideas on every single page.

I was so impressed that I purchased a copy for every member of my
leadership team. I recommend this to anyone who cares about excellence, learning, and creating an environment for success.
