Turnbull is certainly an expert on special education with many papers and books, and the 5th edition of the book could not be more complete in its treatment of all aspects of special education, including the gifted. All aspects of government regulations brought about by IDEA and No Child Left Behind are reviewed. The only complaint I have is that the writers are not as literate as they could be. A British author would use more precise language, I believe. As it is there is some repetition, wordiness and imprecision, but not enough to rate below four stars.

Easy read, very informative, case studies idea for getting a better, overall understanding of subject(s). In depth info on legal issues are a plus. A must read for anyone in or considering a career in the special ed field.

I feel that this is a really great textbook for a person getting into the special education field. It has a lot of good information and stories about people with disabiities. I recommend this book for aspiring special education teachers.

I ordered the book "Exceptional Lives". I was sent the accompanying workbook. By the time I could have rectified the situation the course would be over.

Obviously I'm very disappointed with Amazon.

These Dell Latitude D610s are notorious for the error message telling you the charger isn't recognized. Though the issue can be several different things, often it's just a faulty charger. There are a lot of cheap imitations out there, but this charger is the real deal, and fixed the problem. My laptop once again charges the battery, and I am a happy camper.

My teacher raves about this book, she stated it would be a required reading for each of the teachers at her school. I ordered the book and it was in excellent condition and came in about 3 days! Will def order from them again! First of the semester so cant comment on how good the subject matter of the book is, compared to other readers reviews.

The book arrived well within the time frame quoted. The condition was listed as used. I found the book to be in excellent condition. The few items that were underlined did not distract from the text itself. I could not have been more pleased with this purchase!

Had to use this book in a graduate class and found it very dull and some ideas came across rude.

This book is really well written and it's also visually appealing/stimulating, which makes reading it seem like less of a "task" and more exciting!
