The title says it all!, December 12, 2004
This review is from: An Excess of Pleasure (Audio CD)
The liner notes say, "The Florintine monk Severo Bonini noted sourly that sonatas played in church by violin, recorder, theobro, and violone 'stir up unbridled youth ... to merriment and lust and profane the house and temple of God against all propriety.' " While it unlikely that many today would have such a reaction, this baroque music has a beautiful quality of vitality and fun. It is one of those rare CDs that I can put on repeat and listen to for hours. If you like baroque music at all, you will treasure this CD.
