Book Description

May 30, 2008
After seven years in the Witness Protection Program, Jewelle Dawson hopes to regain her freedom and her identity by embarking on a one-month Mediterranean Cruise. With full knowledge that the Gambrelini mob is still hunting her and despite desperate pleas and warnings from John Murray, her Witness Protection Officer, Jewelle flies to Barcelona and boards the luxury cruise ship, the Emerald of the Seas, in search of interesting new friends, a fresh beginning, and hopefully...romance. Two men quickly find their way into Jewelle s protected life and heart. Max Caldwell, the fabulously wealthy playboy gambler lures Jewelle into his life of risk with promises of adventure and romance, yet lets Jewelle know upfront that he s a man who wants no ties or commitments. In spite of his warnings, Jewelle finds herself in a game of chance, willing to risk it all for love. Paul Rosini, the handsome, widower pilot, fascinates Jewelle with his gentle ways and romantic charms, although Jewelle knows that there s a hidden, deeper, darker side that he won t reveal to her...or anyone. Through exotic ports-of-call in the Mediterranean, Jewelle finds new relationships with Frances Wakefield, the eccentric internationally famous mystery thriller authoress, Randy and Sarah Harrison, Picco, the Italian Countess, and Kenny Scott, the physically grotesque but lovable Vietnam Vet. All add fun, adventure, and intrigue to Jewelle s escape vacation. Love and friendship are put to the ultimate test when the mob discovers Jewelle s vulnerable location. Two will die, relationships are defined, and Max and Paul will be forced to reveal their secret pasts when all the characters come together in a daring exchange to give Jewelle freedom from the Gambrelinis once and for all.

About the Author

Inga C. Ellzey. Defying the odds, achieving her dreams. Who could imagine that little girl stepping off the boat from war-torn Germany back in 1955 would grow up to be a successful American businesswoman, nationally recognized expert in her field, and author of a groundbreaking novel. Inga Ellzey has made a career and a life, out of defying the odds and achieving her dreams. From her humble beginnings as an immigrant child, she has risen through hard work, ambition and a belief in herself to become a model of today s successful American woman. As owner and president of the Inga Ellzey Practice Group, Inc., Inga advises physicians across the nation on medical billing practices. She is a leading authority in this field, and has written, taught and lectured extensively over the past two decades. She also works to improve the lives of others through her involvement in numerous civic, social and charitable organizations. Now, Inga is the proud author of The Exchange, a novel that blends romance, mystery and adventure into an unforgettable tale of passion, drama and suspense. She wrote the book in 2007 in Yorkshire, England, where she was inspired by the solitude of the 16th century farmhouse where she was staying. I didn t write The Exchange to just make money, Inga says. I wrote it to achieve my dream of having a second career as a novelist. For Inga Ellzey, The Exchange is yet another dream come true.

4.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing Mystery, April 11, 2009
This review is from: The Exchange (Hardcover)
The Exchange," by first time novelist Inga C. Ellzey, is subtitled "The right murder. The wrong person. The perfect love story." It's like Agatha Christie meets Murder She Wrote on a 5-star Mediterranean cruise romance cruise, along with a travelogue. However, the romance is a more explicit making this an adult read.

Jewelle Dawson is in the witness protection program for testifying against a top New York Mafia Don. The Don ordered her face slashed and half her right index finger cut off as a warning against testifying, but she did anyway. Seven years later, Jewelle is fed up with her life and against the FBI agent's advice, who is her witness protection caseworker, went on a Mediterranean cruise to re-capture excitement in her life.

This story was like a TV show. The main players were all beautiful people, surrounded by wonderful food, service, sites, shopping, and loving supportive spouses and or love interests - sort of like Love Boat. The plot was interesting and had some turns which I didn't expect. I really enjoyed the descriptions of the places they visited. I never heard of sea glass until reading it here. After googling some of the islands, I can see how well Ellzey describes the natural beauty.

This is book one but the ending in not quite a cliffhanger. All but one of the issues are resolved in this novel and that issue is a personnel one to Jewelle. Ellzey has provided enough information to have strong opinions on how this should resolve in the next book, but not enough to be sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars This one really takes you places, January 25, 2009

I enjoyed reading this novel because the author uses very descriptive language that allows you to develop a lot of images in your mind. It seemed like she really spent a lot of time building up the characters and that payed off for her. Randy was an interesting character and I think it was a good idea to include her in the novel. It's a good read that would probably also make a good movie. Just a thought.
