1.0 out of 5 stars Wow July 15, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the first review I've ever left on Amazon about a book. For me to do this, the book either has to be the best book I've ever read, or the worst taste of dinousar diarrhea to walk the Earth. Sadly in this case, it's the latter. This book is HORRIBLY inaccurate with spelling mistakes, incorrect information and wrong steps in the exercises. Even the pdf version on the CD has the wrong screenshots! I'm an MCSE, VCP 5.0, MCTS, MCSA, MCP, CCA (Citrix), A+ Hardware Technician and ITIL Foundation 3.0, and this has got to be the worst technical book I have ever read to date.

Ironically, they even mention in the book at the beginning that they did not rush this book onto the market because they wanted to thoroughly explore the administration of Exchange 2010. How false that statement is.

This book by no means actually goes into any technical depth (like exploring the protocols being used when connecting via Outlook or OWA, or how the actual Autodiscovery process works when opening up Outlook). Instead, it just goes over steps of how to do something with zero explanation of how it works. I'm so annoyed - I bought Sharepoint and SQL books from the same publisher and I'm dreading opening them up in fear they'll be the same garbage.

Ugh, steer well away from this "technical" book. Waste of your time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exchange Sybex Book January 11, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a great book about Exchange 2010 and certification exam. Actually I prefer Sybex books rather than Training Kit. I think reading enjoyable. Some exercices are not complete, missing names of server, but the author published a revision of exercices in his website, I recommend that readers get download of this new exercices.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two resources in one January 19, 2011
By wbstr
Format:Paperback
The authors did an excellent job in creating a book that serves as both a Exchange Resource I'll keep on my shelf for years to come, and also as a study resource for several exam. The exercises in the book cover lots of applicable real world examples and go into the right amount of detail for an IT Professional.

When studying for an exam I have always hated having to copy pages from the end of each chapter to get a full bank of study questions, putting them all on CD made taking practice tests that much easier. I felt like more questions would be useful, but having passed the exam on my first try after using the resources provided I can't complain.

The first thing I did when I got this book was to see if it covered several recent issues we've worked though that were not easy to find answers to online. To my delight, they were all well covered in this book.

That 5th star is a thank you for including a digital copy with the book.

Although the text goes through everything about Exchange 2010 the labs are vague and at many times wrong. Once we got to Chapter 12, it was like it was taken from another textbook! Read more
