5.0 out of 5 stars detailed, authoritative, advice, August 16, 2005
This review is from: Exchanging Up (Paperback)
If you invest in real estate, this is a must-read book on 1031 Exchanges. It is extremely thorough, detailed, and comprehensive. It's very evident the author is not only knowledgeable on the subject, but is also very ethical in his approach to what can be a tricky subject. Investors would be wise to heed his advice about some of the traps with less advisors and companies that facilitate exchanges.

I had a question about selling an investment property and holding back a second note for my seller. Gorman meticulously explained the ins and outs of that type of transaction.

I also had the opportunity to interview the author on my radio show about the book [...] and he was, again, clearly very knowledgeable and helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to understand wealth builder, June 17, 2005
This review is from: Exchanging Up (Paperback)
As a real estate professional, I was very familiar with like-kind exchanges. But Mr. Gorman has covered every conceivable scenario as it pertains to 1031's and has taken much of the guesswork out of what works and what doesn't. This book is an invaluable resource for me personally as well as my clients and is a great wealth-building tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thumbs up from 1031 Real Estate Consultant, May 2, 2005

mb1031 "mb1031" (Salt Lake City, Utah) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Exchanging Up (Paperback)
Gary Gorman has been an expert in this field for a number of years. He possesses not only vast know-how in 1031 exchanges, but the uncommon ability to take a complex subject and translate it into clear and understandable language. Take a look at the IRS Section 1031 tax code and regulations included in the back of the book for a real appreciation of what he has done!

Whether your focus is building your net worth through ongoing real estate investments, or just to defer taxes on a single upcoming real estate sale, I guarantee you will find solid information and real value here. If you are a CPA or any kind of professional dealing with 1031 exchanges, I expect this will become a trusted reference guide you will turn to again and again. Gary Gorman has now indeed "written the book" on Section 1031 exchanges!
