detailed, authoritative, advice,
By Gerri Detweiler "host, Talk Credit Radio" (Gulf Coast, FL United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Exchanging Up (Paperback)
If you invest in real estate, this is a must-read book on 1031 Exchanges. It is extremely thorough, detailed, and comprehensive. It's very evident the author is not only knowledgeable on the subject, but is also very ethical in his approach to what can be a tricky subject. Investors would be wise to heed his advice about some of the traps with less advisors and companies that facilitate exchanges.
I had a question about selling an investment property and holding back a second note for my seller. Gorman meticulously explained the ins and outs of that type of transaction. I also had the opportunity to interview the author on my radio show about the book [...] and he was, again, clearly very knowledgeable and helpful.

Easy to understand wealth builder,

This review is from: Exchanging Up (Paperback)
As a real estate professional, I was very familiar with like-kind exchanges. But Mr. Gorman has covered every conceivable scenario as it pertains to 1031's and has taken much of the guesswork out of what works and what doesn't. This book is an invaluable resource for me personally as well as my clients and is a great wealth-building tool.

Thumbs up from 1031 Real Estate Consultant,

Gary Gorman has been an expert in this field for a number of years. He possesses not only vast know-how in 1031 exchanges, but the uncommon ability to take a complex subject and translate it into clear and understandable language. Take a look at the IRS Section 1031 tax code and regulations included in the back of the book for a real appreciation of what he has done!
Whether your focus is building your net worth through ongoing real estate investments, or just to defer taxes on a single upcoming real estate sale, I guarantee you will find solid information and real value here. If you are a CPA or any kind of professional dealing with 1031 exchanges, I expect this will become a trusted reference guide you will turn to again and again. Gary Gorman has now indeed "written the book" on Section 1031 exchanges! Marilyn Buckner 1031 Property Watch Salt Lake City, Utah

1031 Exchanging up - Gary Gorman, extraordinary!,
By J. Marshall "Professional Investor" (Arizona, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Exchanging Up (Paperback)
I am a professional real estate investor whom has been looking for a well written book on 1031 exchanges. Gary Gorman explains the process, taxes, pros and cons in a very simple and easy manner to understand. I even emailed him with a very specific question and received a detailed answer within a few days. I am now going through my exchange as we speak. I closed on the relinquished property a few days ago and I am in the process of identifying the replacement property. I have purchased a second book for my lawyer and my investment partner has ordered his own book because I will not part from mine. I consult it daily!!!.
Best book I found on 1031 and I recommend it for everyone to read before they start selling their property. It will save them thousand of dollars to be well prepared and knowledgeable on the subject.

Gary Gorman's 'Exchanging Up" was the best, easiest to understand
explanation of a dynmite real estate taxation technique. Down to earth terminology penetrates the fog of exchanging and provides simple understandable examples of trades. This is my bible for all my future sales. Bob Touhy,CPA Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Educate the Builder,
This review is from: Exchanging Up (Paperback)
I was already somewhat familiar with the material in the book. However we are using a 1031 to build another investment property. I gave my copy of the book to the builder as he was totally unfamiliar with 1031's and what we wanted to do. Gary's book brought the builder up to speed with what we are trying to do. It helped greatly in answering any of his questions and gaining confidence in the process we needed to go thru for the "Non-Safe Harbor Reverse 1031 Construction Exchange" we needed to do.

A Senior's Opinion,

Real Estate has always been my favorite investment. Deferring Taxes is also good. The book - "Exchanging Up" ties both together. With the clearly written information therein, I have closed at least Three "1031" real estate transactions, without fear of any IRS confrontations. The book removes the mystery of Taxing Authority"s 1031 Provisions.

The best book on 1031 Exchanges,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Exchanging Up (Paperback)
This is the best book solely devoted to 1031 exchanges that I've read. The author explains how these exchanges work in a friendly, conversational style. It reminds me of a pleasant discussion alongside of a fireplace. Yet the author covers the subject comprehensively and answers all the questions you would normally think of -- and a couple you might not have thought of yet that are very important. I recommend this book with the highest praise.
