Product Description

Editorial Review

This multidimensional table has enough bells and whistles to keep babies thoroughly mesmerized. Although it has a moving train, peekaboo doors, sliding beads, a musical bandstand button (it actually plays music when pressed), and much more, it's the three buttons that light up and offer cheerful announcements when pressed that are the main event. Sometimes the buttons state their colors ("red," "blue," "yellow"). Sometimes they announce the picture on each one ("airplane," "boat," "car") or the letter in the alphabet that each object begins with. Other times you're rewarded with a mechanical noise. Press the hot rod and hear the horn go "beep-beep." Push the boat and the foghorn blasts. Press the airplane and it goes "vroom." This exceptionally stimulating plaything introduces babies to letters, sounds, and cause and effect. Measures 15.5 by 16 inches. Requires two AA batteries (not included). --Gail Hudson

5.0 out of 5 stars My son loves this toy!, December 4, 2000

There are enough different noises/buttons/etc. to keep him interested for quite a while. It's definitely his favorite toy. The only thing I'd be concerned about if a child isn't able to stand well is that the toy isn't very stable; it will slide easily across the floor if a baby leans on it. We have it on a carpeted floor. I imagine it's even easier to push on an uncarpeted one. This can be good or bad. After a few minor tumbles, my son is standing much more steadily. His favorite thing to do is play the music and "dance". Sometimes he "sings" along, much to the delight of any one who is watching! I'd definitely get this for a young toddler as a gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars its the best activity table i've seen, January 2, 2002

This is by far the best activity table I have seen!! I gave it to my 11 month old twins for Christmas and there are enough activities to keep them both busy at the same time. The only catch... the little train kept falling off when one of the babies would play with it. I thought that it was the toy's only shortcoming, however, I found that the train just needs to be pushed into its slot with quite a bit of force (until it snaps) and then it's good to go - no little hand can pry it loose. I wish the directions had mentioned it because for the first week I just placed the train in its slot and the babies kept taking it out. Now its the perfect toy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Review Step-up-N-Go Discovery Center by Hasbro, December 9, 2001

My son (11 months) loves this toy. However, it tips over easily (when he pulls up on the toy) and slides on the floor easily. He has been hurt on this toy numerous times. My husband took the toy and threw it out the back door this morning because my son got hurt on it once again. I am going to take the legs off and let my son play with it that way. The toy is hazardous to a child who pulls up on it and who is not extremely steady with standing yet.
