Book Description

March 30, 2009 Capital Business
As in a relay race, if you want your company's strategic vision to 'reach the finish line' and achieve your goals, leaders all down the line must achieve a successful 'handoff' of information and develop people and strategies to make it work.

In 'Executing Strategy', Drs. Daughtry and Casselman use the metaphor of the relay race, its team, and the importance of the 'handoff zone' as each level of management receives, translates, and passes the strategic 'baton' to the next - from senior management to middle and from middle to line managers.

Believing that no organization can outgrow its leadership, Drs. Daughtry and Casselman present their proven process for analyzing a manager's ability to take the handoff - to ensure they communicate your corporate vision and develop their people to carry it out.

Then learn how to coach managers according to their needs to guarantee they will develop into 'star receivers' and execute your vision for building your organization. The authors present simple methods for engaging people at each level to increase their commitment and to better translate your company's vision into practical plans that work.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is a winner!, July 5, 2009
This review is from: Executing Strategy: From Boardroom to Frontline (Capital Business) (Hardcover)
This book is a winner! It's a playbook that will help any organization execute their business strategy more effectively. What resonated the most with me was the strategy map, the handoff process from senior to middle to line management, and linking development of leaders and managers to strategy. When these and other challenges are successfully addressed, the result is a high performance organization.
