5.0 out of 5 stars I love my chimes
I got this item for Christmas five years ago from a friend. I have loved it ever since. It is so relaxing to sit and hear the little balls fall onto the chimes. It really is just like rain hitting chimes. The box is beautiful and it makes me smile just to see it. I would recommend this for anyone.

Ok, thankfully this does not use electricity, big plus in this over sterile/fake world. But here are some minuses. The description is misleading. It says that the chime will last for 45 mins, but actually the paper in the box says between 15-30. Plus, the sticky tape was unusable (the one that was pre-attached to the lid) and so i had to use the spare tape which leaves...

Plus, the sticky tape was unusable (the one that was pre-attached to the lid) and so i had to use the spare tape which leaves me with exactly zero additional tapes left. Not sure how long it will take to go through but at 5.50 for 3 additional tapes, i will probably be heading to the hated home depot sooner rather than later to get a more (relatively reasonably priced) tape. Oh well, it is the thought that counts, looking forward to relaxing with this (after i calm down).

5.0 out of 5 stars I love these chimes, December 3, 2007
This review is from: Executive Nature Chime Box - Light Cherry (Kitchen)
I have been looking for these for a long time, I have loved them for years now, but never could find them when I wanted one. My best friend had one that I would drive him nuts with, playing it over and over and over again...I recommend these to anyone who loves wind chimes, bells, and the sound of rain...

5.0 out of 5 stars Newest Generation Rain Chime, January 16, 2007
This review is from: Executive Nature Chime Box - Light Cherry (Kitchen)
The older generation of rain-chimes had the beads bouncing on the wood case after hitting the chime. Ding, clunk, clunk. This generation has cushioning so now its just the chimes you hear. Excellent!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully Relaxing Sound, December 31, 2009
By
This review is from: Executive Nature Chime Box - Light Cherry (Kitchen)
This was the best Christmas present I got! I love the beautiful soft sound of the chimes. You turn the box upside down so that the balls stick to a tape at the top and release randomly when turned right side up. The irregular cadence helps me fall asleep. The period over which the balls drop seems to depend on the length of time left upside down. The second night, I left it upside down all day, and then turned it right side up when I went to bed. The chimes were still sounding occasionally the next day. From now on, I just "set" it at bedtime.

The one problem I had was that some of the balls would fall between the chimes and clink on the bottom, which interrupted the peacefulness of the sound. So I covered all inside wood surfaces with thick felt - not hard to disassemble the entire piece. Problem solved - and well worth the effort. As for the sticky tape wearing out, I plan to replace it with 2-sided tape when needed. I suspect this will work just fine.

The wooden box suits my taste for Oriental style, and I love the look on my nightstand.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sound is fine but construction disappointing, January 12, 2009
This review is from: Executive Nature Chime Box - Light Cherry (Kitchen)
The chimes sound fine but, sorry, the construction doesn't support the "Executive" label. Corner posts were loose and had to be re-tightened by peeling felt pads off the bottom corners and securing screws more firmly. Two chime rods had come unfastened at one end and had to be re-affixed to their support using some glue (in my case, epoxy). The chime unit base is fiber board construction and the two screws holding it to the base of the box were stripped. I purchased four brass screws and re-fastened the unit to its base at four corners. The side "windows" would benefit aesthetically by being cut from glass instead of plexiglass which already showed some light scratches. The design and wood finish are otherwise fine. Did I get the only one that was a problem? Don't know except to say for persons lacking skills to fix things or the patience to deal with it, this would be a definite return article.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth price, August 31, 2009
This review is from: Executive Nature Chime Box - Light Cherry (Kitchen)
This chime box is pricy for what you get. The chimes are pleasant, however, the chimes are not immediate enough to generate relaxation. The little beads continue to fall hours, days and weeks after box is turned over. It looks nice on the shelf and creates a conversation piece.
