Kerul Kassel has written a very practical book for senior managers regarding business sustainability. So much that has been written has focused on the environment and for good reason. We now have a manual that includes the economic and social elements of sustainability.

Every senior manager would benefit by the information, wisdom, and direction of "The Thinking Executive's Guide to Sustainability." All university management and leadership programs should include Kerul's book and take its rightfull place alongside the other fundamentals of business.

Every organizational leader and corporate citizen needs to read this book. Corporations who want to remain successful, profitable and also be seen positively by the public must move towards sustainability and social responsibility. With that being said, The Thinking Executive's Guide to Sustainability is the book that will inspire new thinking and challenge long held beliefs about business practices that no longer serve the world and, in fact, could endanger us. If you are a leader who cares about our future generations, then it is time to take action. Kerul's systems thinking approach will uplift your understanding and hopefully plant a burning desire to lead your organization towards greater sustainability and social responsibility. If I could give it more than five stars, I would! This book has broadened my understanding and awareness in uncountable ways and I intend to refer it to every executive I come in contact with! If you are an executive and have not educated yourself on the information in this book, then you may be falling short in your own responsibility as visionary leader.

In this well-written guide on sustainability, the authors make an excellent case for why industry leaders need to care about sustainability. Elegant in its formulation, the Thinking Executive's guide provides a clear set of sustainability frameworks and metrics of use to anyone leading a complex organization. Based on systems thinking, this work also offers a way to navigate the jargon of sustainability but focusing on actions that lead to outcomes and impacts. This book is a great tool for anyone who wants to move their business in sustainability, including executives, trustees, and other senior leaders.
