Liking Slut is easy. Actually, it's hard to simply like them. You wind up loving them before you realise that you do.
But, the unfair thing about trying to write a review about their album is that it's incredibly difficult to draw comparisons to other groups so i could give you an idea as to how they sound.
This german group have a very unique style. Yes, they do play what certain circles would call "alternative rock" (what does that mean in nowadays??), while others would maybe label them as "emo-rock" (and that would sound too silly for those that know Slut).
What they do play is alternative music, that's for sure, but as i said looking for a place in the drawer for them is tricky.
Their style ranges from heavy riffing "indie"-sounding rock to melancholic tunes destined to paint your Autumn days darker.
The guitar played here is superb and in a league of its own but what distincts this group is their incredible vocalist. It's a voice that you hear once and you never forget it.
"For exercise and amusement" is Slut's second album, and, while it is a great album it is not their best. They have released two more albums after this with their next one (Lookbook) being their best. Look out for it if you heard "For exercise..." and liked it.

This band made an album that you'll put with your best albums to listen to in your car. This album will rock you out. If your into the the Notwist you'll probably like this CD, but slut has created their own style.
