Product Description

The Exercise Equipment Floor Mat is designed to protect your floor from scratches and dents from your exercise equipment. Prevent heavy equipment and dirt from damaging your floors by simply unrolling this mat onto any hard or soft surface. This mat is perfect for use under treadmills, exercise bikes, other exercise machines or on it's own for yoga, stretching and other exercises in your home or commercial gym or studio. This mat provides superior traction and slip resistance from it's dual sided texture. This mat measures 3ft wide x 6.5ft long x ¼inch thick (90cmx200cmx6cm) making it thicker and longer than most mats to allow for flexibility during use. This mat is thick for additional cushioning and protection of your floor but still easy to cut to size with a sharp knife. This surface is easy to clean with a damp cloth, broom or vacuum. This product will be shipped rolled. To ensure there are no curled edges, we recommend unrolling the mat and laying it flat for some time to let the mat "rest" and uncurl. We also recommend for heavy equipment, to lift and place equipment on the mat as opposed to drag onto the mat to prevent tearing. If your equipment is on rollers, please be careful of the mat bunching up whilst manoeuvring the equipment on to the mat, to help prevent tearing.

So the mat is 36.5 inches by 78.5 inches (so 3' x 6.5' but with an extra half inch on each). It is cushioned and compared to other mats of this style that you come across in a gym it feels like it has more give and isn't just to protect the floor, but also to provide you a little cushion. for example, while taking measurements my knees left an impression in the mat like you would see in a tempurpedic commercial that returned to normal after 20 seconds or so. i have it on a hardwood floor and there is no slipping at all, it clearly stays put. it also has no smell whatsoever. it is only 5mm thick at best, however, not the stated 7mm (it might have even meant 3.7mm as 3.2mm (1/8 inch) is the thickness of other mats in this category). however, that is still thicker than the other mats of this type if you do some comparison shopping and in person it does in fact feel cushioned so i'm still going w/ 5 stars and am happy with it.

I purchased this mat to put under a piece of exercise equipment, and it seemed to do fine. However as I re-positioned the equipment one part of it dragged across the mat. I immediately noticed that this dragging had scored a long tear in the mat, completely ripping through to the floor underneath. Admittedly the equipment is quite heavy, but it does strike me that the mat ripped awfully easily. So I would give the mat a good review - but advise caution in any situation where the mat might get torn.

I own three of these mats. One for my bike, one for my treadmill, and one for my elliptical. My equipment is in the basement, and my primary reason for using the mats is for keeping dust off the machines. They do a good job of it, and I'm happy with the quality of the material also. There's plenty of cushion in the material so if your desire is to use them on a wood floor they should perform just fine for you also. It's a good product, and I recommend it to everyone.

I bought 2 of these hoping to put my exercise equipment on them to protect our wood floors. Upon attempting to place my equipment on the first one the mat ripped with incredible ease. I was not pleased as it allowed my equipment to scratch our wood floors. If you need an exercise or pilates mat...then this might be your product. If you need something tough and durable, then avoid this product like the plague. This product should not be marketed as an equipment mat.

I bought this mat to go under my treadmill. This was the first mat I had ever purchased, I read that it would help with the noise, static electricity, etc... It did do all I expected in those areas. Problem is the mat is not very durable. I installed the mat in March of this year 2011. After about 2 months of use, holes started to develop and I would have to adjust the treadmill. Now after about 7 months of use the mat is in several pieces. I use the treadmill on avg about 5-6 times a week for 30 minutes a night.

I have two of these mats, both of which are on Pergo flooring. One is under a large Pro-form Treadmill and the other is under a Tony Little Gazelle. There is no shifting of the mats and they are easy to vacuum and keep clean.

I would recommend using them to anyone with a heavy piece of fitness equipment for floor protection!

The 3' x 6.5' floor mat was big enough to fit my Cybex arc trainer. It is cushiony when I get on and off the machine and is protecting my carpeted floor from sweat and damage from the exercise machine. My only complaint is the relative ease with which you can tear this mat. I knew from other reviewers that this was a problem so I was trying to be a gently as possible. The arc trainer is on wheels so I attempted to roll it onto the mat. The mat became bunched up into the wheels and a large chunk tore before I noticed what was happening. Overall, this is a good mat for the price. It doesn't have an odor like a rubber mat, however it also lacks the durability of a rubber mat. I think the manufacturer should reinforce the edges to prevent easy tearing.

I got this mat primarily for laying over it while doing exercises, and not for placing exercise equipment over it. I have this mat in a carpeted room, and it has worked out great. It has a rubbery, soft feel to it, so it adds an extra layer of cushioning. The mat is big enough to lay down and roll around, unless you are over 6" tall.

If I have to complain about one thing, is that the mat is not rigid enough. In other words, you can easily make it not stay flat on the floor. With this said, however, it is also easy enough to make it go flat again by just gently stepping over the raised area. This doesn't really happen that often, and it especially does not happen if you're laying down on it. I've had some mat malfunction when jumping on it. Like I said, it is not grave enough that it would prevent me from giving 5 stars to this mat.

Enjoy!
