4.0 out of 5 stars CHEWS UP THERA-BANDS
This is a very effective tool for using the thera-band while it is wedged between the passage way door and the door jamb. HOWEVER, the portion of the door anchor through which the thera-band is weaved to keep the thera-band from slipping off the door anchor has a problem: it chews up the thera-bands. As the thera-band is stretched while being used, the thera-band rubs...

1.0 out of 5 stars Thera-Band Door Anchor Warning will break!
I do not recommend this product! I had mine for only a few months and the foam ring broke while using the product. The bands and strap retracted really fast and hit me the face close to my eye which gave me a nice bruise for a few days. I am now using a different type from another company with out the foam parts. I am always careful with my equipment. I check and...

This is a very effective tool for using the thera-band while it is wedged between the passage way door and the door jamb. HOWEVER, the portion of the door anchor through which the thera-band is weaved to keep the thera-band from slipping off the door anchor has a problem: it chews up the thera-bands. As the thera-band is stretched while being used, the thera-band rubs back and forth across the rough end of the door anchor. The rubbing causes the thera-band to break after only two workouts. THE SOLUTION is to take some soft material and wrap it around the end of the thera-band before the thera-band is woven through the rough end. When the wrapped thera-band is stretched during the exercises, the thera-band rubs against the soft cloth and not the rough end. So far this has eliminated the tearing of the thera-band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Exercise Tubing Accessory, August 31, 2005
If you use exercise tubing to workout, you need this door anchor. It's sturdy, but not so thick that you can't shut the door. Very well constructed so it doesn't feely cheap or flimsy.

5.0 out of 5 stars great anchor for the theraband, July 6, 2007

I like how easy it is to set it up. It does not scratch the door to which it is attached.

1.0 out of 5 stars Thera-Band Door Anchor Warning will break!, March 10, 2010

This review is from: Thera-Band Door Anchor (Sports)
I do not recommend this product! I had mine for only a few months and the foam ring broke while using the product. The bands and strap retracted really fast and hit me the face close to my eye which gave me a nice bruise for a few days. I am now using a different type from another company with out the foam parts. I am always careful with my equipment. I check and make sure there are no strains, rips or tears before using equipment. The foam ring that you place behind the door seemed fine prior to use. It broke apart within the first 18 reps of my exercise. I thought this was a well made product but it proved me wrong. I pray no one else has or will have the same experience as I have with the Thera-Band Door Anchor.

1.0 out of 5 stars Foam part broke, band + cloth part came back and hit me in the crotch at a high rate of speed, March 31, 2011

This item worked great until I was doing tricep extensions and the foam part broke and sent the cloth and the bands flying back towards my crotchle region at a very high rate of speed. Left a few nasty welts. Obviously I would recommend ordering a different door anchor. Yes, it's cheap but when you're balls and/or penis is on the line, it's not the time to pinch pennies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much better than knots, May 12, 2007
This door anchor works great and is much better than tying knots in the band to serve as a makeshift door anchor. With the latter approach the knots are hard to untie and the edge of the door can damage the band leading to early failure. The door anchor eliminates these two problems and is definitely worth the price.

Works real well for leg exercises, but when doing arm exercises it tends to slide downwards.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very dependable, March 17, 2010

This review is from: Thera-Band Door Anchor (Sports)
What I love about this anchor is its dependability and reliability. If you use a theraband, you can tie the band to the strap and you're ready to exercise.
I personally use it with my exercise bands. The bands come with an anchor but it is not something I'd want to depend on and you certainly don't want a band coming loose and hitting you in the face! Because this anchor has such a broad base, you can use it under, on top or on the side of the door without fear of it slipping through. Excellent.

Tying a note in my exercise bands to place in a closed door frame added wear and tear to the band. This product solves that problem.
