Functional Guide,
This review is from: Exercise Technique Manual for Resistance Training-2nd Edition (Book & DVD) (Paperback)
This is a great book for someone who would like to learn how do perform exercises properly. This book also comes with a dvd so you can read how to perform an exercise, look at the pictures in the book and watch them in action on your T.V. The dvd shows the exercise in slow motion, in the natural speed of the lift and it also breaks down the important parts of the exercise.

It's a great book. Read it about 2 times to study for the CSCS. The people at the NSCA know what they're doing. The book comes with a DVD and it really helps to see the exercise while reading it.
PROS: Detailed, updated, organized, DVD. CONS: Repetitive in some of the exercises (which can be good because it gets stuck in your head), basic exercises, 70's porn-like music in the intro. After going through this book, when you go to the gym, you'll notice all the errors those meatheads are making.

Was very disappointed in this book.Simple pictures with a couple of arrows showing general direction of motion. For the price, extremely disappointing. Even the squat picture shows a guy way above parallel even though the description notes to go to parallel. Highly recommend one of Stuart McRobert's books on exercise technique - much more detailed, better pictures and good descriptions on the exercises as well as common mistakes in form.

I'm a personal trainer and trying to get into the Strength and Conditioning setting and this book has definitely helped me understand the Olympic lifts a lot. Very detailed checklists for all their exercises has definitely improved my ability to check for improper form. A definite must have for any fitness/performance professional.

It has less information than expected. The descriptions of exercices tecnic is ok, and the videos verry informative and flowless, it's a very good souse of information. The writen part is a little too consice, tough. I'd have like it to have more information on what the exercises are good for, an more marginal notes and information.
Even tough, I think is a good boo, it didn't live up to my expectations.
