Book Description

Book 2 in the JUST BREATHE Trilogy

WARNING: This book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. NOT SUITABLE FOR READERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18.

Her dreams brought them together, but reality could tear them apart…

The man of Zoe Morgan’s dreams isn’t only real, he’s interested. In her. But her boss wants her too, and is leveraging his unsolicited advances with the threat of blocking the huge promotion she's after. When he places a spy on her research team, the intense stranger discovers more than he should, and Zoe fears hiding a relationship with Gavin Cassidy from her boss is the least of her worries. The whale she must protect has been marked for death, and Zoe's old enemy Scarlet is eager to deliver the killing blow. To both of them.

Australia’s Sentinels must find and lock the door into the Dreaming before Fyre Elementals launch another attack on innocent dreamers. But corruption and distrust abound, and Gavin believes someone on the Sentinel council is in league with the Fyres. As he reluctantly embraces his new role as council leader, Gavin must not only keep Zoe safe from Scarlet's vengeful clutches, but organize a Sentinel defense strong enough to prevent a full-blown Elemental war—with a traitor fighting by his side.

*The author will donate all profits from the sale of the JUST BREATHE trilogy to programs that educate people about whales and the challenges they face.

About the Author

Kendall Grey, word wrangler, whale warrior, wicked wench, and lover of tongue-tripping alliteration, was born without an off-switch between her brain and mouth. She's been called the "Flux Capacitor of Twitter" (@kendallgrey1) and "A little package of love all wrapped up in F-word paper," but she's really just a maniacal writer relaying eyewitness accounts of the rave inside her head. She writes urban fantasy with strong romantic elements and also dabbles in erotica and horror on occasion.

Kendall lives off a dirt road near Atlanta, Georgia, but don't hold that against her.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spectacular follow up to the first book!! June 5, 2012
By Amy
Format:Kindle Edition
Wow!! Okay, where to start. This is seriously a super hard review to write because I totally freaking loved this book and don't even know what to say to express how amazing I think it is. I have started this review numerous times and ended up deleting it over and over. This book picks up right where Inhale ended and it couldn't have been a more perfect start. The whole feel of this one is totally different than Inhale, but in a great way. There is a lot more emotion, more tension, and a lot of OMG moments!! I kid you not. This book is made of awesome!!

Zoe is one bad ass chick, we already know that. She is also very fragile and a lot of that really comes out. Before Gavin was just Mr. Perfect in her dreams, now he is real and is persuing her very insistently. She is totally hot for him of course, but she has worked so hard to get where she is and doesn't need any distractions from her work. She thinks he is on the complete opposite side of the dating spectrum and that there is no way it could ever work with them anyways. Let me tell you, she has a hell of a lot more self control than I would. Gavin is practically throwing himself at her and she keeps shooting him down. I kept wanting to be like "WTF is wrong with you?!! He is smoking hot and if dream sex is any indication of what you could have with him, you are INSANE for not wanting that!!" Moving on....Zoe does come to her senses, but there are many more complications to deal with.

Do I have to mention how much I love Gavin? Oh man, he is delicious!! I need a Gavin!! He will do anything to convince Zoe that they should be together. Besides his need to protect her, he really does care about her. I was a puddle of goo every time he would make his advances on her, whether verbal or physical. That boy has my heart for sure!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I Hate Kendall Grey. December 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Exhale, 2nd book of the Just Breathe series by Kendall Grey.

My mind. Blown.

Perhaps hate is a strong word.

I had just consumed Inhale and was in a state of post good read bliss. Normally, I'm reluctant to read the second book of a series if the first book lived beyond expectations. Usually I give myself a little time - at least a couple days to contemplate, ponder, take a final drag out of the last remaining feelings of satisfaction from my happily ever afters. Sometimes I'm really good and manage to hold myself back until I'm sure the entire series is complete before embarking on days of sleepless kindle binges.

But I didn't take my time. No, Kendall Grey is so gifted, her world so complex, her characters just so. just so damn full of life that I couldn't help myself.

I read book two. And while I was reading book two, I could see the inevitable happening right before my eyes. I was powerless to stop it. I was powerless to stop reading it. And it happened. And now we wait for book three. Thank god it's scheduled for a January release.

Read book two but only if you have read book one. Exhale picks up exactly where Inhale stops off. Also, know this is a trilogy which I decided to pointedly ignore before embarking on this journey. Like her previous book, Kendall Grey once again throws us into the Elemental World but if you've read book one, you will at least have some footing. But don't worry, she still manages to keep us hapless readers off balance. You will predict some twists but Kendall Grey will definitely fling you off the ride with other turns. I get the sense that there is a bigger game at play in her trilogy and Kendall Grey has only just whetted our appetites. Here's to 2013.

Disclaimer:I received a copy of Exhale from the author in exchange for an honest review. I received no other compensation

Review: First of all, can you believe that cover? How gorgeous is that?? I can't even get over it, it looks like something from a graphic novel. So amazingly fantastic.

Alright, onto the review! Exhale is a rare gem in the world of trilogy writing. For once there's a middle book that doesn't suffer from stagnation and info-dump overload. Instead, the action keeps building at a steady pace, new characters are introduced, some mysteries are solver, some expanded upon and new ones uncovered. The bad guys get badder and the good guys win and then break our hearts. A tremendously satisfying read in and of itself with a powerful momentum, making it impossible to wait even a moment before starting the next book.

I'm forcing myself to write this before I do, but believe me, I'd much rather be curled up with the giant dog reading!

In Exhale, the Dreaming continues to be under attack by the Fyres but their power base is weakened. The leader of the Fyre attack, Scarlet, is no longer only driven by her lust for power, she has her eyes set on Gavin, the now leader of the Sentinels (sworn protectors of the Dreaming). But Gavin has fallen head over heals for his Wyldling charge Zoe. Better than a love triangle, the tension and drama of Scarlet's desire for Gavin and hatred of Zoe drives her to do things only an author of Kendall's calibre could imagine.

Plot driven and action packed, Exhale delivers on every point. It's beautifully written, perfect in timing, structure, editing and tone. There's never a moment when the characters drift out of character.
