5.0 out of 5 stars Seen them live...
I stumbeled upon these guys live in Philly while I was on vacation. I was instantly hooked. Very addictive sound. Catchy. I was tapping my foot to the songs as if I had already heard them...and the singer is a very talented alien. ;)
BLOW IT OUT is my favorite song on the album.

3.0 out of 5 stars Familiar Name, Different Band
I was disappointed that this was a different band than the Sacramento, California band of the 80s with the same name, whose 3 releases are all out of print. Surprisingly, this new Features is somewhat similiar, with a guitar/keys/bass/drums/vocals format. While not as catchy or eclectic as the California Features, they have some pop songs and farfisa-inspired rave-ups...

Compared to what's currently being released on the market, this piece definitely deserves five stars. My only regret is that the album clocks in at around thirty minutes, considering that the Features have many more (and much better) songs in their unreleased catalog. If you like the Kinks, Cars, or Talking Heads, certainly give this band a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard not to love, February 25, 2006
This review is from: Exhibit a (Audio CD)
I saw the features in summer 2005 supporting King of Leon and this was the first time i had heard them. Normally you dont expect much from a support band, but the Features got everyone in the room up on their feet with their catchy tunes, brilliant lyrics and great stage presence. This is their debut album (though they have loads of other great songs from their back catalogue) and every song on it could be a single in its own right. I listen to this album over and over because it never gets boring. I love the track "Idea of growing old" (i put it on a compilation cd to play in my local pub and even the old men love it!!!) it just makes you smile, the lyrics are so heartfelt and the tune is the type that gets stuck in your head for days. I also really like Kari-Ann which conjurs up an image of a dusty american town in the 70s which is odd as im from Croydon in the 1990s, just goes to show how lost in the Features music you can get!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Saw them live before Kings of Leon and was blown away!, March 14, 2005
This review is from: Exhibit a (Audio CD)
I went to see the Kings of Leon concert in Kansas City and I had no idea who The Features were at the time. Someone said that they were the opening act and I was just hoping they wouldn't suck. They completely blew me away. The band had great energy and I couldn't help but smile, nod my head and tap my foot to every single song they played. As soon as I got home I had to order the CD! Great Band!

5.0 out of 5 stars Exhibit A is evidence of great things to come., September 19, 2004
This review is from: Exhibit a (Audio CD)
I was eagerly waiting for this album and now, having heard it, I can say that it could easily be considered the best album of 2004. The Features have been overlooked wonders for too long. Check this record out. You won't be disappointed.

I do have to thank the Kings of Leon for introducing me to The Features, and thank my friend for introducing me to Kings of Leon and thank the Greyhound Bus line for getting me to Atlantic City...I thank Atlantic City for allowing me to watch two great bands play on Friday!

I have to say that if you ever have the opportunity to watch the The Features LIVE then do it. They have awesome energy and I developed a crush on the drummer. (But then again who wouldn't? ;-D)

I came across them by accident, having stumbled in during the middle of their set. I had just come from a 2 and a half hour ride from New York City and was starving...but I totally forgot about sustanince(sp?) when I started to listen to the band!

Their Cd is all sorts of great, but seriously, if you have the chance to catch them, please do...I can't wait when they get to NYC!

Saw the Features opening for the Kings of Leon. I went to the KOL concert in Houston not knowing who The Features were. Myself and all my friends were blown away. Every single song they played was great. I picked up both albums at the concert and then downloaded thier exclusive iTunes track and the rarities they have availiable on thier website www.thefeatures.com. I am a music snob and these guys are my new favorite band, they are amazing. Every song they write could be a single.

The Features are currently on tour opening for the Kings of Leon. I went to the KOL concert in Oklahoma City not knowing who The Features were. I was amazed. Every single song they played was great. Every song had the entire crowd tapping their feet and trying to sing along to songs they had never heard before. Their energy is amazing. I picked up Exhibit A at the concert and loved it. They played 6 or 7 songs at the concert from the CD, and the music was some-what familiar this time around. "Circus" and "Me and the skirts" are my favorite songs, but practically the entire CD is great. Coming from someone who had never heard The Features before, but is now hooked; Pick up this CD.

The album is amazing and the features are even better live. They've got more energy than any other band I've ever heard play.
