5.0 out of 5 stars little known gem.
not many have heard of this band, and fewer have heard this album. i can honestly say that this is the album that got me in to doom metal, and with good reason. while this may not be the most technical of music, it is rather progressive with the use of instruments such as the flute. on the first track the contrast of angelic operatic vocals and brutal gutterals is quite...

1.0 out of 5 stars amazing but boring for most
I got this CD from secondspin.com for $5.99 or something; I was interested because the drummer Jason Sherlock was once in Mortification. This is the most unique and evil-sounding Christian death metal that I've ever heard. The anti-Catholic song sucks, of course. What a joke! Are there any real arguments for protestantism? Fortunately, one can't understand anything...

the bottom line is, if you like doom, get this album. if you don't like doom, get this album anyway, because you need to like doom.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Doom Death Masterpiece, June 10, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Exhumed of the Earth (Audio CD)
Exhumed of the Earth is a beautiful album. I have been fortunate to find all 3 of Paramaecium's albums, and they are all masterpieces. Very hard to find though. This album is worth getting just for the first song alone, it is 16 minutes long, the whole album is 66 minutes. It has beautiful female vocals mixed with growling death vocals, and has some nice flutes mixed in. If you love death metal or doom metal, or Doom Death, then Paramaecium is the band for you, but you have to hunt for their albums like I did. Highly recommended band for all Christians and even secular listeners. Paramaecium blows away all the secular doom death bands. Peace.

4.0 out of 5 stars DOOM METAL, March 31, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Exhumed of the Earth (Audio CD)
One of the most heavy albums you can get - very good svinging and heavy rhytm guitars chugging with the true double footdrom being played steadily throuhout .. the reason of me giving the album 4 stars instead of 5 is because the albums is a bit monotome and is not so technical!
But if you run accross this doom metal album my advice would be to buy it! This is true doom metal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best metal album ever!, December 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is my absolute favorite. I've heard many top rated albums in metal and this is my personal favorite. For vocals, musicianship, originality, positive lyrics and for a "doom" album this is pretty uplifting, beautiful, harmonious etc....Give it a try. No matter your religion or preferance in metal, if you like metal period.(you'll like this)

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic CD, May 19, 2010
This review is from: Exhumed of the Earth (Audio CD)
This CD was one of the Best i ever heard. This is the second Death Opera I've heard with the beginning of the album - Believer being the first one with one of their songs. But this album, it reminds me of Saint Vitus with their jams and it sounds so Great. I would like to think that this is Life Metal as oppose to Death Metal.
