retaliation were a band with an identity crisis, unable to decide if they were caustic political crust/grindcore or goregrind. unfortunately, they didn't excel at either, with overly conventional, telegraphed riffing and weak, raspy vocals. many of these bands pretty much only existed to fill space on compilations.
