5.0 out of 5 stars Epic Read!, April 15, 2010
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Exile (Guardians of Ga'hoole, Book 14) (Paperback)
The mysterious Striga whom I formerly loved becomes a psycho maniac. It's evident that he is a hagsfiend (he seems to have the fyngrot gaze, as I call it) and in the end, has the same tyrannical plans as Nyra and Kludd.

His purge for vanity is most disturbing as by flattery, lie by lie, book by book, fire by fire, he gains control of the King and burns owls!

Read it! You have to! It's a fantastic book! ;)

The lead up to the last book in the series, it portrays the constant fight between good and evil. Evil that is not evident, but that somehow sneaks into our lives, little by little, lie by lie and often from many different sources. It would be a great book to read with your children as you discuss the many different aspects of choices that lead to consequences, good or bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars Guardians of Ga'hoole: Exile, January 17, 2012
The 14th book is full of suspense! One night I was reading, and I said to myself, "Ok, one more chapter, then it's time for bed." I think I ended up reading 5- 7 more chapters than I thought. Kathryn Lasky really keeps you flipping the pages without thought. Even though I'm only a 12 year old girl in the 6th grade, I recommend this book to all ages!

4.0 out of 5 stars Exile, October 9, 2010
This review is from: Exile (Guardians of Ga'hoole, Book 14) (Paperback)
The Blue Owl, known as the Striga, has returned to the Tree with the Band after helping them so greatly in the battle with the Pure Ones in the middle kingdom. The owls feel indebted to him and tolerate his strange ways to a point. But when books are being burned and festivals cancelled, enough is enough. Worst of all, the Striga has Coryn under his thumb and the Band is exiled. The Band will do all they can to put a stop to this and get their King back.

I enjoyed this fourteenth book in the series, and liked getting to know Soren's mate, Pelli and her three owlets. Looking forward to the concluding last book!

This series was one of my favorite series as a child. The books do have some violence, but it's not bad, and I would still recommend this book to everyone.
