A fine terse novel,

This novel is an excellent piece of Southern writing. The author creates vivid and memorable characters with a minimum of language. The settings are also vivid and memorable. This was my first Madison Jones, but I will be back for more.
Like all good regional stories, it transcends region by presenting an honest picture of humanity. It is the kind of book that sticks with you for a long time after you have finished reading it.
