THE CHILD DEVIANT,

As always with ISC, this album comes complete with lyrical printout and amazing artwork. The music hasn't changed much since they sighned on to Metropolis Records, though the technoligy has increased a little. If your new to ISC, the music is categorized as Dark electro/Industrial/Future Pop. Anyways, the second track, 'Promissed Land', is kinda cool, but the third track, 'Forbidden Fruit', is by far the best track on the album, and in my opinion...the best ISC song ever made. Following from there..'Fading Light' is a nice female/male vocal tradeoff....followed by 'Wintermoon' wich has some good Neo-Gothic/elctro-guitars/synths/synth pop vibes. Track 6 is great, though it's in German...as are the next four of five tracks. All in all, another interresting ISC album. Not Perfect....but damm good.

The harder they come...,

I am new to In Strict Confidence. "Where Sun and Moon Unite" is my first ISC cd and "Exit Paradise" is my latest ISP cd. What appealed to me was their song "Promised Land" with Antje Schultz on vocals. I heard this song on the band's MySpace page and immediately fell in love with the song. I loved the melodies, Antje's vocals, and the EBM beats. I must say I like the remixes to "Promised Land" and "Wintermoon" more so than the versions on "Exile Paradise". I definitely preferred the remix version of "Wintermoon" over this album's version because of the vocals and the pace of the song was slightly slower than the remix version. I think my favorite song on the entire cd is "Fading Light". The blend of both Dennis and Antje's vocals really works here the best. The song has a lot of energy. A few of the songs took a few listens for me to get accustom to. Overall solid album. I will definitely have to check out ISP's other cds.

I have loved ISC for years...but while this cd SOUNDS good, they seem to have lost the edge they once had and have gone more commercial. Some of the songs here can be found on the EP in different, harder mixes. It's all just a little too smooth here. I am also disappointed that they have not progressed forward in theme....it seems they are hung up on this angel verses man war theme...or a demonic/religious theme. It's ok, but they have done it before on the brilliant "Holy" and did it better.
Two songs are good on here, I will say. "Fading Light" is a great EBM piece, and perhaps the best song on this cd. The second is "Promised Land". The other songs are just way too slow and bland to be of much interest. ISC is at it's best when it does EBM, which is not this cd. It just lacks substance. But it's good pop if you're looking for less that won't stay with you. Get "Holy" instead or the EP
