Enya's "Exile" is a bittersweet song of longing. It's a shame this piece hasn't been used in fantasy films, since exile is a frequent theme (Eomer's exile from Rohan,Arya's exile from her fellow Elves) It's a deeply melancholy song, though towards the end there are bittersweet notes of hope. There are the lyrics "I'll find a way",though she often sings of December coldness. Enya's "Exile" is one of her best songs. At the time, Enya had broken through as a mainstream New Age artist,melding Celtic sensibilities with electronic and meditative ones. She still had her magic. "Exile" is powerful,moving,melancholy music.
