Collects issues #5-11 of the Marvel alternate reality X-Men series,

This collects issues #5-11 of the Marvel Comics "Exiles" series written by Judd Winick and penciled by Mike McKone and Jim Calafiore. The team of Blink, Mimic, Thunderbird, Nocturne, Sunfire and Morph bounce between alternate realities, solving problems and preventing destruction, all the while moving closer to returning to their own respective realities. The team must complete missions based on clues from a mystical Tallus, or else they face being squeezed out of existence.
Issues #5 and 6 comprise "Up North and In The Green" featuring The Hulk, Wolverine and Alpha Flight. #7 "A Chance To Dream" is wordless. #8-10 is the titular "A World Apart" story, with the Exiles on an Earth occupied by Skrulls and facing Galactus. #11 is a lighthearted "Play Date" showing some rare downtime for the team. The newly released Exiles Ultimate Collection TPB Volume 1 collects the first nineteen issues and is currently priced at $23 for 280 pages, offering a much better value for fans of this series than this TPB.

Absolutely Awesome,

The Exiles are extremely cool!!!!!! Each member of the team is taken from an alternate timelines (besides the normal continuty of the other Marvel comics, aka 606)and are commanded by the Tallus to aid other realities before they can return to theirs.
What is so cool about this particular series is anything can happen. The Exiles can meet the Fantastic Four or Spiderman or X-Men of the Hulk or even alien races in one of those realities and because of that reality's circumstances, they can be completely different people than in the 'real' Marvel Universe. Not only is this book for well rehearsed Marvelites, it works very well for newbies because there is very few references to the regular Marvel continuity. Great book!! if you like the Marvel Universe and especially the X-Men you will love this book. (It has a great writer, great plot and awesome art. Very Funny.)

The best comic run I have ever seen,

Funny, with more well defined characters than any other comic I've seen, the Exiles is the definitive series for the title "Classic Comic."
