5.0 out of 5 stars In Existence - Beautiful World, June 19, 2002

This has been one of my favorite albums for several years now. It's unlike anything else I listen to. It has a lot of heart. It blends sensuality and spirituality with African textures and the voices of tribal women. The pieces are earthy and dignified; very uplifting and calming at the same time. Expansive! Like a breath of fresh air! My favorite cut is Magicien du Bonheur --(sexy!) great to dance to!

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly listenable, May 30, 2006

Take a journey from the Navajo to Africa and many places in between. Beautiful World is world music at its best. "In Existence" is not the most well-known of this genre, but a very good CD nonetheless. If you are a fan of Dead Can Dance, Deep Forest, Enigma you need to add this CD to your collection!

5.0 out of 5 stars Spiritual and inspirational, October 22, 1998
By A Customer

From the moment I heard the first notes, my attention was captivated. My favorite piece is Silk Road. This will be my third copy as I have lost the first two by theft and typhoon damage. It is a difficult recording to obtain through regular retail outlets. Thanks, Amazon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Haunting, March 6, 2009
This review is from: In Existence (Audio CD)
I bought this awhile back.
Again, I heard it on a old SanAntonio radiostation, the old jazz channel 106.7. The show came on at midnight and Id listen to the haunting captivating music. Most songs I never remebered who played them and they still are in my mind.
This was one of the very few cds I bought from the shows old magazine.
The music is haunting and captivaing and I still love it.

One of the best New Age CD's around.

LOVE SONG is my favourite. I just love the strings he uses as a backdrop to most of the songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique, Harmonious, Uplifting, June 15, 1998

Sawyer's view of the world may be a little starry- eyed, but his implementation is flawless. This album should be in everyone's collection. I never leave on a long trip without a copy on tape. The world influence is evident. The pure skill at arrangement in "I Know" and "Spoken Word" is impressive. The voices virtually double as instruments.

"Black Elk, the Lakota Medicine Man, says 'peace comes to the souls of men when they recognize their oneness with the universe'." Thus begins the journey. Phil Sawyer does an expert job of melding instruments and the incomparable voice of Miriam Stockley (voice of Adiemus) with his world-music inspired creations. A remarkable album of peaceful, uplifting songs. Also check out the follow-on album, "Forever" and Miriam's solo album "Miriam".

5.0 out of 5 stars Must-have de-stressing tool!, December 20, 2008
This review is from: In Existence (Audio CD)
I listened to a friend's CD on my 1-bit Sony CD player, Leak Stereo 20/Point one combo and 1977 Bose 301 speakers. It sounded GREAT! Sadly I haven't found this CD for sale in any of the shops here in Malaysia. Perhaps I'll order one through Amazon.
