I AM IMPRESSED, April 15, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Exit 25 Utopia (A Great American Punk Rock Novel) (Paperback)
This book on rock history was the best I ever read. Steven Wishnia describes rock and rebellion in a real, down-to-earth fashion. He tells it like it is and doesn't leave out anything of the life of the 16 bad punks he chronicles. Part of what was so great about te book was that Wishnia has the ability to describe in a way that keeps you interested and begging to know more. Trust me, you won't get bored reading about rock and roll when you're reading "Exit 25 Utopia."

But where is the punk?, September 30, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Exit 25 Utopia (A Great American Punk Rock Novel) (Paperback)
Perhaps if this author had spent less time in his room with his bong and more time out amongst the public he would have a better understanding of what punk really is. But then again, the history of punk is full of self-absorbed men who overestimate their importance and haven't the slightest clue about real passion. Wishnia completely misses the point and falls flat. I found myself struggling to keep my eyes open as I waded through this wearisome work.
