I thoroughly enjoyed the masterful use of sound, imagery, and character development in this film. A modern take on Plato's Allegory of
the Cave, this is a classic story of the transforming power of belief. As an old soul on the path to liberation, the main character Alice has renounced everything -- all worldly relationships, possessions, attachments and supports -- to devote her life to following the truth, to ending the cycle of reincarnation, to finding the doorway to a higher dimension and greater consciousness.

Slow low budget film but held it's own with an intriguing if ambiguous story. Proves that you don't need special effects for a decent science fiction storyline. This is a low key movie all the way, one that is designed to make you think and wonder, so definitely not for most audiences. Many will probably find it boring--and that's fair, but the pacing and ambiguity are deliberate and that's exactly what will turn off a lot of people--however, it is perfectly appropriate for this film. The dialogue and acting are fine- and this is where the movie could have amped up the tension and interest because there just isn't a lot of conflict within the interpersonal relationships--which could have helped increase the overall suspense level of the film. Appreciation of this movie will be a very personal choice.

If you watch the trailer you'll get the same amount of substance and meaning that you would get from the film. It's truly awful. I love deep existential movies that really make you think. Once I got about half-way through and realized there was no real plot all I could think was these characters are horrible people and I can't believe I'm wasting my time watching this crap. As I waited for the movie to get better, it got progressively worse.
It was more pointless than watching a single random episode of Lost, and much less interesting.

I was suckered by the concept. I love movies that are enigmatic and you're trying to figure out what is really going on, and the director isn't telegraphing it to you. Unfortunately, this movie didn't deliver on the promise. I think this was mainly because he was obsessed with the style. The cinematography and sound was way over stylized. The visuals were processed with grunge filters (admittedly common). The sound was obnoxious. They used overly-loud deep rumbling, like being on an airliner, that would surge or ebb to manipulate the viewer's tension. Or droning, when not rumbling. The filmmaker is obviously a 20-something that thinks an ugly guy with a scraggily beard wearing a hoodie is cool and mysterious. And I guarantee you this director loves Mulholland Drive. I don't understand the high rating at IMDB, but I knocked it down a bit.

I gave this 4 stars but almost gave it 3. I gave it 4 stars for the creativity but some might find it really boring. I had to watch it a couple times just to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I wasn't but somehow it kept me interested enough to watch.

If you like odd sci-fi flicks, you might get some enjoyment out of it but for me, it just didn't have enough umph!
