Beautiful and haunting,

This is a fantastic piece of art. It's the first time I hear Mr. Christopher Young's work and I'm truly impressed by the compassion and beauty hidden in his songs. I'm sure you've seen the movie before that's the reason you're looking for this soundtrack. Every track has a history behind it. From the slow-paste tacks like Prologue And Emily Rose to his two masterpieces "Martyrdom" and "For Anneliese Michel" it's brilliantly done.
Highly recommended.

I recently saw The Exorcism of Emily Rose on AMC and loved it immensely. But I did not notice the music very much at first. Then, in scenes such as when the possessions are occurring, or when the exorcisms are being attempted, the music really showed. Christopher Young is well-known for scoring horror films, but this one is his finest, in my view. I love the dissonance, the screaming strings, the haunting vocal solos by Sara Niemietz, and the feeling of horror and dread. This music is definitely not for those who are faint of heart! My favorite tracks in particular are First Possession and The Exorcism. There is a violence to them that reminds me of works by Alfred Schnittke and Iannis Xenakis (although more brutal). Despite the fact that this music is ferociously atonal, dissonant, and scary, it is a worthy listen! I would not hesitate to recommend this music! Bravo, Mr. Young!

Beautifully done. It is very much in the style of Krystoff Pendercki, whose "Polymorphia" and "Canon.." can be found on the soundtrack for the 1973 film, "The Exorcist" I highly recommend this score. You might consider acquiring the CD entitled "The Exorcist, Excerpts...", also available at Amazon.
