All right, there is more to the plot than the Amazon synopsis offers, but I don't want to give too much away. There was a wonderful twist toward the end that even I didn't see coming, and I can usually "spot the plot" from a mile away.

Miyagi works at the high-end Tachibana restaurant. Customer service is the pride of the restaurant and Miyagi is an excellent manager of the restaurant. He has a mentor that gave him the job after the young Miyagi was left without parents, and Miyagi devotes his entire existence to repaying his mentor the kindness through hard work. Kasuga is a brash new chef to the restaurant who takes an instant romantic interest in Miyagi. Kazutaka is the restaurant owner's son who runs a sister restaurant to Tachibana and has a nasty disposition.

The plot moves in somewhat different directions from the beginning. There's romance, yes, but also intrigue and some in-depth soul-searching on Miyagi's part that is unusual when compared to the average BL romance. That's all I feel I can say without spoiling it for you.

The art is well done. Characters are drawn in a way that make them easily recognizable, and there's a medium level of backgrounds. The adult scenes are of typical old-school June quality, but I don't mind because the characters are expressive. In addition, there's some very sweetly romantic moments that involve no skin whatsoever. Also, how nice it is to read a book that involves all clearly adult characters!

Ryoku Tsunoda also created "Where Has the Love Gone?", a title I also enjoyed, although there's no consent doubts in this book. There's something just left of center about this mangaka's works, which makes them stand out against the crowd of standard BL romantic fare. Finally, this is one of the few books in which the end notes added to my enjoyment of the book. Don't skip them, they're cute and funny! ^_^

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious manga, December 6, 2009

Must say I really loved this manga. It was so sweet. The story felt very real. Just wish it was longer to show how the relationship last with those two.
