Product Description

Pronounced "Simple," the Cimple Drawer Divider has a clean, robust design that does not depend on moving parts. Available in 3 heights: 3, 4.5, and 6 inches. The Cimple Divider uses solid-wood, adhesive-backed feet to grip the walls of your drawer. The adhesive is not permanent, can be moved multiple times, and will not leave a residue on your drawers. Then, the expandable cabinet-grade plywood walls slide out to fit into the cushioned groove in the wooden feet. The feet can hold securely to your drawer walls even if the drawer box is not perfectly square. Finally, we provide a sturdy, silky smooth styrene cap to lock the divider in place and to offer a smooth top edge that is easy on your delicate items. Rather than using a spring to provide tension, you adjust the divider the way you want it and lock it in place with the styrene cap. This design allows full control of the tension, regardless of the expansion length. Tool-free installation, secure and custom fit.

it's not exactly that these drawer dividers don't work. It's just that the mechanism seems a little bit like it's constructed out of paperclips and chewing gum. It doesn't have a satisfyingly smooth, clean, solid quality about it. it's basically three boards that you have to shove into these plastic clips, and then you slip the whole assembly into a slot, where it doesn't fit smoothly. So yes, my drawers have been divided, but the whole solution just feels kind of herky-jerky. Maybe it's a personality thing, but I feel like someone who's interested in creating subdivisions in their sock drawer wants an attractive, orderly, well-designed solution. This doesn't qualify, in my opinion. I wish I'd paid a little more and gotten the spring-loaded ones.

I was extremely surprised by the low quality of this product given the number of glowing (shill?) reviews... The Cimple Expandable Drawer Dividers consist of three pieces of eighth-inch plywood, some plastic clips to hold the plywood together, and a couple of solid wood end-caps with a groove down the center and double-sided tape on the back. It's a step up from securing two pieces of eighth-inch plywood with binder clips... but not a large one.

The end caps for the drawer dividers must be secured to the front and back of your drawer using the supplied double-sided tape. If the end caps aren't taped in place, the dividers won't stay in place for long. With three pieces of wood and three plastic clips, the design is a bit too complex. Test-fitting the dividers before taping the end-caps in place is a little more fiddly than it needs to be. Binder clips might actually be a step up...

If you can afford them, the Axis 128 Natural-Wood Spring-Loaded Dresser Drawer Dividers are a much nicer product. They look like real wood (as opposed to plywood & plastic), and the spring-loaded design makes them simpler to position.

While these dividers lack the springs and gizmos usually used to install such devices, the simple slotted end pieces affixed with double-stick tape are very effective in keeping the dividers in place and the friction locks keep them expanded.

As an engineer I applaud the use of the KISS methodology.

Used the 6 inch height ones which are hard to find. I needed for a refinished dresser for a baby room and these are perfect for clothing division for tiny baby clothes. No they aren't winning. any beauty awards but come on they are drawer organizers so who cares?

I bought these dividers because our built-ins are very deep (31in L x 21.25in W x 9in H) and there were no other dividers that were made 6in high and at least 22in long to fit. In contrast to other reviewers, the products are nice quality, solid wood dividers. They are smooth but not lacquered smooth. You can lacquer them yourself or buy contact paper (used to protect bottom of cabinets and drawers - comes in a variety of prints and colors)from Walmart/Target and stick it on. I will definitely be buying more of these dividers to organize my husband's drawers.

Solving adhesion issue:
The weakness in this product is the adhesive on the back of the wooden feet that holds the divider in place. This can be solved easily by using 2 or 3 small/med strips of 3M Command Adhesive strips - can be bought at local WalMart, Target, or hardware store. I found that 2 small strips more than sufficiently holds them in place Command 17021P Medium Mounting Refill Strips, 9 Strips. Also, because the adhesives are on a thin foam substrate, the foam helps to ensure that you get better adhesion especially if the walls of the drawer are not perfectly flat. Even better is that the 3M Command adhesives do not damage surfaces, AND if you want to reconfigure your dividers later on, just pull the adhesive out, slap on new ones and reposition the dividers! It's very easy to do and not permanent. For more information about these strips, Google "3M Command".

Customer Service:
I found that the customer service for the Cimple products was quick, friendly, and helpful.

Improvements:
The rubber knob in the feet that helps hold pressure in the dividers are not always in the center. This can create a tiny bit
of wiggle but nothing detrimental.

First, I do like the fact that the divider is made from wood. I don't like how it needs to be installed. There are two brackets that you are supposed to adhere to the drawer first, using the attached self-stick tape. Being the AADD person I am, I change things too frequently to make that kind of a permanent committment, so I chose NOT to permanently attach them. This made the installation much harder, because they kept sliding out of place. There are plastic clip-type things, used to keep the wood pieces together, and to allow for expansion. If you remove these, then set the divider pieces in place, and try to re-attach the clips, forget it. Nearly impossible. I chose to just sort of wiggle, and wiggle, and wiggle the two pieces apart a little at a time, without removing the clips, and then put them divider in place. Took forever. They do look very very nice once they are in, though. I did not want the spring loaded ones, because in my opinion, I would not want that kind of pressure against the front and back of the drawer, potentially loosening the joints. If you have patience, these are nice.
