This review is from: Expansion and Conflict (Kindle Edition)
I read this book because I had just finished reading Erik Larsen's "In the Belly of the Beast", which is about Ambassador Dodd and his family in Pre-War Germany under Hitler.
I was pleasantly surprised on issues he brought up in this book that we no longer are taught in American History about our Civil War. He is an excellent writer and breathes life into economic issues and political compromises without bias. I could not tell you what his beliefs were on this subject, which is what a good history book should do. This is an intriguing read and should be accessed by anyone interested in the political and economic aspects of the War between the States. |
