Being a person that listens to urban gospel music, this Cd project is a great reflection on how a hometown church can produce a true worship & praise CD project that ushers you into the presence of God.

First, this is a 2-CD set that's wonderfully put together. CD #1 is entitled "Worship", this is true Straight Gate Church in there mornin worship services with guest Gospel artist like Keith Staten, psalmist Dana Powell. Bishop Andrew Merritt leads the congregation into His majestic presence. Favorites includes Richard Smallwood's "Total Praise", Lord I Thirst For You", "His Name Is Wonderful", "Jesus What A Beautiful Name" and more.

CD #2 "Praise", is the more contemporary side of the music from the Straight Gate music dept..This CD is the killer,this Project is produced my premeire gospel producer, Steven Ford with gospel's king of urban praise, Fred Hammaond starting the CD off with "I'll Praise" and hitmaking producer powerhouse PAJAM offering 2 songs "Jumpstart" and "Work Your Faith".Other favorites include "I'll Meet You In Worship", "Can't Live Without Your Love" & "He Loves Me" sung angelically by Nicole Binion, and "Power In The Blood". But the 1 song that stands out of all 28 selections is "I Will Praise Thee". This songs has a sound of celebration with a funky latin rhythm and intricate vocal arrangements that complements each other well, this song debut is the only song that's written by a songwriter out of their music dept. name Jerry Harris (excellent job!).

This is a must have CD in any collection: Praise, Worship, Gospel, Inspirational, etc. Currently there is no other CD on the market that offers so much in 1 CD case. If you can't find it at your christian music store, try Wal-Mart or one of the big music retailers. P.S. give your local christian radio station a call and tell them to play this CD, its worth listening to, trust me!

I was in a record store one day, just browsing. When I came across this C.D. I had wanted the song "Center Of My Joy, " for a while, but I had never heard of this choir. Deciding to take a chance, I purchased it. I have listened to this C.D. more times than I have ever listened to any other, and I have loved music all of my life. The flow of the music is awesome. I can't tell you what a treasure I found. If you only buy one C.D. this year, you should get this one. You will never regret it. This one will definately put you in the mood to worship the Lord at a deeper level.

This is a nice CD. I am usually not into "Mass Choir" albums, but this was nice. I like the song "Breathe". I had always wanted to hear a gospel singer sing that song. If you like Fred Hammond he sings a song on here too. They did a good job remaking some of the songs. Keith Staten is also on the album. I hope he comes out with a worship album again.

If it's true that this cd was released in '03, then I'm a late arrival late to the party. But better late than never, as they say.

A driver picked me up from the airport a few weeks ago and had this cd playing in her car. I was arrestd by what I heard.

All the songs are nice, but two cuts in particular usher me straight into God's throne room; they are so hauntingly beautiful: "Jesus What A Beautiful Name" and "Jesus Name Above All Names" The soloist's voice is so pure and unpretentious she sounds like an angel. Her singing alone makes this cd the gem that it is. I am on the hunt to find out who she is and whether she has her own cd.

Purchased this CD in 03 when it first came out, had never heard it before, must have been the leading of the Holy Spirit, it is now 2010 and I am still listening to it.This is one of the few CD's I can just let play and have a worship experience. I know it is hard to recapture what God did with SGMC in this CD, but i would without hesitation purchase their products again, God Bless all that will experience this treasure. BTW my favorite is "Say Goodbye to Me", dare listen to this and not be changed.

This is a must have who enjoys Gospel music to the fullest!
People, do not sleep on this one, the song "I'll Praise" will lift your spirit to new heights in the Lord.

I really like this cd, I like how they seperated the worship from the praise. I love the songs, really good worship cd.

I actually got the chance to sing with the Straight Gate Mass Choir on this CD and it was a great experience and a blessing th work on such a great CD. I will be real with you on this CD it took alot of hard work and singing the songd over and over again but in the long run the CD came out great. I am a mememeber of the Straight Gate International Church and Bishop Andrew Merritt is my pastor and I am so glad that he gives us a oppourtunity to make good gospel music. My favorite songs are, Jumpstart, Holy, Designed By Me, I Will Praise Thee and my all time favorite Power In The Blood.
