5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful tale of soul mates - Very highly recommended, April 21, 2003
An overwrought technician makes a life-altering mistake when she selects the wrong vile for Jenna Winton's insemination. When the director of Emerson Fertility Clinic invites Jenna for a meeting, the last thing she expects is the shocking news or a check for a hundred thousand dollars. Rather than accepting, however, Jenna decides to contact her lawyer and think the situation through. Then an enigmatic, sexy stranger knocks at the door, and her world tilts.

Blake Winston never intended to father children the traditional way. He had his sperm frozen knowing that one day he would pay a surrogate for his heirs. When Jenna declines his offer, however, Blake realizes he has met a woman completely unlike any he has ever known. His firm commitment to joint custody quickly gives way to an offer of marriage. Soon their marriage of convenience grows into something far more meaningful.

One of the most entrancing authors of our time, author Karen Rose Smith pens a poignant tale of falling in love in EXPECTING THE CEO'S BABY. While marriages of convenience plots are common fair among romance novels, Smith finds a way to add her own characteristic flair to the orchestration of the arrangement, resulting in wildly appealing read. Indeed, Smith has a marvelously fluid style that reveals the past through succinct, introspective moments, strong character motivation, and an absolute belief in soul mates. Moreover, by bringing together two characters that would otherwise never meet and live in vastly different worlds with considerably different perspectives, Smith presents a powerfully rendered tale readers will treasure. EXPECTING THE CEO'S BABY comes very highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A warm and wonderful story..., June 26, 2003
Jenna Winton thinks she's carrying her late-husband's baby, but there was a mix-up at the fertility clinic. She finds out CEO Blake Winston is the father-to-be. Two people brought together by the love of an unborn child. Both carry scars from the pasts, both have suffered losses. Can they find a new beginning in the birth of their child? Can they find a new beginning together?

Karen Rose Smith tells a warm and wonderful story of two people who were truly meant to be together!

4.0 out of 5 stars warm character-driven romance, April 14, 2003
Tom Franklin, Director of the Emerson Fertility Clinic, stuns widow Jenna Winton when he informs her of the mix-up. Instead of being inseminated with her late husband's sperm, she is carrying the baby of a man with a similar name. A technician confused B. Winton with B. Winston especially since both men came from Fawn Grove, California.

Blake Winston is irate to learn that someone named Winton is six months pregnant with his child. Blake offers Jenna to pay her expenses and more, but he keeps the child; Jenna rejects his insulting deal insisting that the baby is hers. Though his heart has not been touched in two decades, Blake finds he feels guilty and sorry when he upsets Jenna though he seems to do that a lot. As they agree to a marriage for the sake of the unborn, a miracle occurs as they fall in love.

Though fertility mix-ups and marriages of convenience are frequently used devices (more so the latter), readers will appreciate this refreshing tale. Karen Rose Smith displays her talent by interweaving clues about the lead protagonists through quick introspective moments with the present scenario triggering a similar memory. The lead characters are an intriguing duo as Blake has a major demon from his past and Jenna has the ghost of her beloved deceased husband. Title aside, EXPECTING THE CEO's BABY is a warm character-driven romance.

This is a good romance book. I like the tale and the situtaion between the characters. But you can kind of guess what is going to happen next and that can ruin a book. Read more
