I've read other books by Susan Stephens and liked some of them like 'In the Venetian's Bed' but this is book is a skipper. I am in total agreement with the other 1 Star Reviewer. The plot is very dull and focuses around a meek mouse of a heroine who comes across not as a sympathetic mother-to-be but just a stalker who at first had NO backbone, gained a backbone, and then lost it again (can this be the same character???). I can't imagine a real person rationalizing half the things the heroine does to let the expecting father know about her pregnancy and continue to just let him walk all over her and she still comes back for more of the same treatment. Yes, love is unconditional and love is irrational but the heroine appears to be dimwitted. As for the father to be, his change of heart is inconsistent. He chases her down later in the book only to walk away, expecting her to follow. As annoying as that is, at least he is more likable than the heroine.

Hate the pregnant retard heroine!,

I don't know if Susan Stephans is a new writer not well versed is crafting smart heroines, or if she's an older writer who puts little effort into serial romances. Neverless, this book is bad.
The heroine is your typical pregnant Cinderella, except she's stupid as all get out. The more I read, the less I liked her and the more I realized that Susan Stephans clearly doesn't respect her readers enough to put together a decent plot! I've read romances for years, and one of the key points to these books is to make the heroine likable and believable. This Carrie chick was a pregnant retard with a speach impediment and a yen for stalking roylty. I wasted $5 on this book! I had to throw it away b/c it so disgusted me. I even picked it out of the trash and skipped ahead to see if it got better. It didn't. I know its just a serial romance, but I'd really prefer not to waste my time and money on trash. There's trashy novels, and then there are novels meant for the trash. This is one of them.

This is a very bad book. The story didn't make sense. The woman didn't want to leave the palace. She was a lily livered person. She seemed more like a stalking fortune hunter!!! One of the worst books written yuk!

Typical of Susan Stephens books, Expecting His Royal Baby delivers a great story. I loved the characters and the plot.
