In reading this book, I also did the bible study and DVD series along with it. I found it to be exactly what it claims to be... A Wake Up Call to the Church. If you have done the Blackaby bible study and are ready to go forward in your Relationship with God, this is an EXCELLENT study to follow "Experiencing God". I was pleasantly surprised to see Henry Blackaby and Crawford Loritz on the DVD with Anne Gramham Lotz. Together the three bring great perspective and personal application to to scripture and especially if you are doing the bible study along with it. Anne's simple study plan brings the Word to life and is a good way for people to find some structure in their daily devotions.

For people who are critical about Anne Graham Lotz speaking frankly about the signs of the times are obviously not in touch with the events going on in real time and do not get the purpose of the book at all. The Wake Up Call is not unfamiliar in the bible. It is not something that Anne Graham Lotz just decided one day was the next subject to her book. "Expecting to see Jesus" is the personal journey that God has taken Anne through to refine her personal Relationship with Him. In reading, if you are ready for it, God will use her journey to further your walk of Faith and bring to light the hidden sins we so freely "re-label" and live with every day.
If you are ready for change, a deeper relationship with God and to see things in a way you may not have considered, then this book and study is perfect for you. If you have grown complacent in your Faith, going through your Christian walk like there is nothing new to look forward to... if you want change because you go to church out of habit or church has you so busy it is affecting your own walk with God, then this study is for you.

Expecting to See Jesus reflects the freshness, simplicity and passion of heart spent close to the bosom of Jesus.Believing we are the generation that precedes the return of the Lord, Anne issues a wake- up call to the church--a call that begins with personal revival birthed from repentance as referenced from Isaiah's experience, (Isaiah 1-5).

With transparency of heart she fearlessly examines the sin that prevents or dulls our relationship with the Lord. The battle sides are looming large on the horizon; there is no time for the church to be slogging its way through mediocrity.Acknowledging that passion and revival begin with each person's own relationship, Anne concludes her call to action with examples of prayer and a template for meditation to help the reader establish purposeful reflection.

I enjoyed this book very much. Especially the part about forgiveness and sin. We are all sinners but the aspect of forgiveness of our sin is so compelling that I do not see how anyone could pass up the chance to be forgiven and to enter into a closer relationship with Jesus. Mrs. Lotz offers very good advice for prayer and for seeking forgiveness. I would recommend this book to anyone seeking a closer walk with our Lord and Savior.

I am half way through this book and find it very eye opening. I love Anne's candidness as she writes. It will have you thinking about historical and current events in a way you have never previously thought of them. I wanted to be awakened and this book does that to your soul.

This is a wonderful non-fiction book about the end times. Anne's warm and courageous spirit reflects her love for Jesus and how important it is...more so than ever in history...to be aware of our relationship with Him. To be expecting Him, to be ready for His return, and to seek a closer walk with Him- should be our innermost desire.
I'm very impressed with how gently she can 'not pull any punches' but gets straight to the point.....this is too important to play games and souls are at stake!
She shares how times are matching up with Biblical prophecies more each day.
Anne uses scripture for everything she says. I have always loved her father, Reverend Billy Graham and Anne seems to be blessed with his ability to speak truth and wisdom in a warm, concise, and scriptural way.
I highly suggest reading this book if you want to be encouraged about the rapidly changing times.....expect to see Jesus, rather than fret and worry about the economy, wars, and political unrest around the world. There is an urgency in the air.....life as we know it has changed. Anne shows us how to pray more effectively, what we should be praying for, and how to get close and stay close to our Savior.
After all, if you know the Bible...you know the end of the story! Expect to see Jesus!

This is a great book and a must-read for all Christians whose faith sometimes tends to get squishy. Anne lays it out candidly (some might say bluntly), but with great style. She is an accomplished wordsmith who puts words, sentences, and paragraphs together into an articulate and compelling narrative. She details how, according to Biblical prophecy, we are in the real and immediate end times, and these end times are not just some abstract, vague concept that will come sometime in the ambiguous future. "Expecting to See Jesus" is both a great encouragement and an exciting wake-up call for believers who need to get their acts together and live the kind of lives that are pleasing to our Lord.
